Fitting Window Boards

This video is dedicated to showing the way how I am fitting window boards. Also I am giving some tips, which hopefully someone might find useful.

The purpose of the rebate is so that the window board can then sit on top of the rear of the upvc window sill therefore covering it for a neater finish, obviously this needs to be done before the plastering so that the void beneath the window board can be plastered in.

These where purchased in screwfix or toolstation, and added timber on top for wider stance.

Nice job!👍👍 Can the boards be fitted before the plastering is done, that way the need for filling underneath the board would be avoided.

Yes, when possible I would highly advise to do that, but in building sometimes things don't go according to plan so I shared what is one of the ways when you are in the same position as I was.

How do you get the cavity closed off under the window board or is it a solid wall?

We didn't had to as it was a timber frame with insulation in between studs so, we foamed the little gap which we had with expanding foam, but if that would of been block or brick wall i would of used cavity closers instead.

Yes sure, I use Maffel (M) class dust extractor.

Show how to fit and cut a upvc fascia board with a lip, for a five sided or three sided bay window. I cant find a video on YT. Thx

Don’t usually fit upvc, but if I will have a chance will make a video.
