Best depiction of a break up (literarily with the diamonds from her eyes) First, your ex rescues you (with a blow up pool) and you get back together. Next a hot rebound saves you (with teamwork from strangers). Next, not so great as you explode on the sidewalk (self explanatory). Next, you reflect on the relationship and cry and loose a but of your soul (diamonds from your eyes) Finally you literally land on your own feet, stronger for the journey but also weaker from the loss (diamonds from her eyes) Bravo everyone involved and thanks for your art.

Then as you start to get better you hope, wish that friends, family, strangers, ANYONE will save you. Finally you understand that you have to catch yourself, and realize you're fully capable of it. everyone is talking about the physics of the video and I'm just here realizing it's about a woman's emotional state during a break up and the first fall when her bf caught her using a swimming pool is just her wishful thinking that they could be together again but it won't. then the second fall where a guy called for help to catch the girl symbolizes the girl trying to fill in the void in her heart by seeing other guy but that didn't help either to ease her pain. by the end of the video, it shows that she can move on from such devastating experience by trying to help her own self and standing on her own.

so it's like, a metaphor saying that when you breakup with someone you really love, it's the equivalent of falling off an enormous building. as you're "falling", you're wishing all of these people will come and save you, but in reality you'll end up saving yourself because everyone "lands on their feet" after a breakup

This video did the song justice. Great metaphor for breaking up and getting back together. It shows that after a while, your lover won't take you back. She didn't land on her back, and instead on her feet so that she can go off and find "something better for the next time" as the song put so nicely.

She falls & hopes he catches her(gets back together with her). -She hopes strangers will catch her(this could mean casual relationships {rebound} or just depending on others to save her. -She thinks/fears the fall will shatter her (she'll lose herself{substance abuse or suicide}) But the video gives her the option to catch herself. (Why she fell in slowly to the ground & finally landed on her feet.) This song helped me, honestly. You think you're surrounded by all of these things that you love, but they don't necessarily love/benefit you. And in the long run we're hurting ourselves trying to drag it out an unequal/unloving/abusive relationship 💗

My interpretation of the song and video: When coping with the rejection of a lost love the common two mistakes people make is: 1) reach out to the person who rejects you for comfort by saying "I can be better for you", 2) reach out to others to around you for help making the rejecting person cover up their true feelings of love lost. The song/video is saying take your lumps of fools gold, you will find gold everywhere in this world if you keep digging. But most important message from the song/video is in the end only you can recover from rejection and reaching out for other's help is both demeaning and delusion.

I listened (and sung along) to this every day on my morning bike ride for years. It literally helped me climb hills. And then I switched subscriptions, my playlists were built anew from the ground up, and the soundtrack to my daily commute changed. Then today, years later, I hear a few notes of this as a car passes and it was like running into a close friend you hadn't heard from in years. A close friend who's coming bike riding with me again starting tomorrow! And to you, my friend, you are stronger than you think you are,
