@@jcspaz4l Duluth is overpriced so much that even when I was working there and got a discount, I still wouldn't buy much because I still couldn't afford it. That said though, their quality is legit. And if you live here and can physically go to their outlet center, you can get brand new clothes for half price. Any time someone returns an item, whether used or not, it automatically goes to the outlet center simply because it's no longer technically brand new. I have pants that have lasted 10 years and aside from slight discoloration from lots of wear, they're still in excellent shape! 🙂🙂🙂

I suggest adding Keen to the 'No-Go' list: I had been wearing pair after pair of their footwear, ordering straight from them. When the George Floyd thing happened, they sent out an email decrying systemic racism and touting how they were going to be a 'better' company. I stopped ordering their shoes right there. Their site currently has loads of virtue signaling including the declaration, "We are social and environmental justice action-takers who make shoes to make a difference". One link on their site is titled "Fly Fishing While Black" and has the photo of a tatted black guy holding a rod in waders, who is also wearing a plate carrier (with no plate in it) and a chest rig with a Glock. Reading his story, as an avid fly fisher, who has been assaulted, harassed, and threatened with death so many times while enjoying the outdoors, he declares "This is why I have to don my flak jacket and holster my weapon to go to a beautiful place on public lands that nature has provided for all of us..." The thing that really gets me is that all of his gear he is wearing in the pic: looks like it just had the tags pulled off of it.

Well, I just ordered a couple new jackets, flannels, shirts, and accessories for myself from Duluth this afternoon! My son just landed an apprenticeship with a huge construction company, and I took him to get some boots and cold weather work clothes from Duluth yesterday as well (coveralls, bibs, pants, jackets, shirts, wool socks, etc.)! If I had taken him shopping a week earlier, he would likely have ended up with at least half of that being Carhartt pieces. I ante'd up an extra $100 bucks to get him a pair of Thorogood boots instead of the Carhartt boots I would have recommended for him. It's a shame, because they do make good stuff. Carhartt lost over 1,000 of my dollars alone this week!!! Support freedom loving companies, and try to buy Made in the USA whenever possible/practical !!!

I wouldn’t give up my Carhartt clothing if it was spun by the Devil himself. Carhartt Dickies and Ben Davis for life. Keen work boots 🥾 to top it off and you can handle anything.

@@MyDigitalJourney I actually work for a living as well. Been a tool & die maker my whole life, and done plenty of carpentry & electrical as well. I own plenty of clothes of both brands, and have no complaints about the quality of either. I don't like when companies get political, or in this case anti-freedom of choice, so I choose to stop supporting them. Personally, I like the Duluth better because they have proportions that are more comfortable for ME. My experience with Keen boots is that they are garbage. Never had a pair that lasted 6-months. I prefer Georgia, Danner, and Thorogood. More comfortable than Red Wings, which is the only boot my oldest will wear, but aren't comfortable for me. If Carhartt reverses their direction and makes things right, I would have no problem purchasing their products again...

But seeing people who have too much burn clothes that could go to someone who works for a living really burns me up, no pun intended. My dad was a pipe fitter 60 years ago and he could never afford the fancy construction clothes. I’m sure that’s still going on today. Maybe instead of burning they could drive their Lamborghinis to an actual job site and hand out the clothes to some hard workers.

@@MyDigitalJourney I never advocated burning your perfectly good Carhartt clothes, or even to stop wearing them. In fact, I have commented on multiple videos about not being an idiot by doing that. Burning perfectly good stuff does nothing to hurt Carhartt. I said that I will not buy any more of their stuff until they reverse their policy, restore their employees' right to choose, and hopefully issue an apology. When Carhartt sees people burning their stuff, they're probably laughing their butts off because they know most people will forget about this in a few months (if that) and go out to buy new Carhartt products to replace the stuff they've burned... In the mean time, I am happy to buy quality alternatives from their competitors, whether that's Duluty, Walls, or some other brand. To clarify, Carhartt is not forcing employees to comply with an unconstitutional mandate. It is simply deciding to make such a mandate its company policy. As of right now, there is no one telling them that they can't do that. SCOTUS merely said that the government couldn't.

@@AmericanFreeState The court found that the federal government and its agents cannot issue such sweeping mandates. That's completely different than whether a private company can require vaccinations of its employees. This was limited to the scope of the federal government.

@@cobbler88 The Brandon vaccine mandate, stuck down by SCOTUS, wasn't just limited to federal government agencies and their employees, but extended to private sector companies, and their employees, facilitating government contracts. And that's where private companies like Carhartt have legally stepped in it. Yes, private companies servicing the private sector can force a vaxx mandate, but not without cost if the vaccines they mandated cause harm to their workforce. It's a situation where SCOTUS didn't specifically address vaccine mandates for private employers not servicing government contracts, but they kind of set a precedent saying it's not a good idea.

Carhartt has turned into a fashion brand for hipsters anyway. Don’t burn your old stuff, but I won’t be buying any more from them. 👍🏻 To all the collectivist Brandon Sheep bashing this guy: aren’t you late for your next booster appointment?

I was going to go with columbia for a jacket to avoid my usual carhartt buy, but it seems columbia has been known to say some pretty nasty things about people like us who have traditional views and values. I will ALWAYS spend my money with a company that keeps its nose out of politics and focuses on doing better buy it's employee's and its customers. Leveraging food on their employee's tables (a job) to get those employee's put a substance into their bodies that has no long term tests is borderline heartless and i will never buy a single carhartt thing again for as long as i live. It's always "my body my choice" until it effects the other side of the political isle. Double standarts seem to be a theme with the left and these companies that shouldn't stick their noses into politics.

This guy's acting like a Carhartt is the first company to require their employees to do something. That's how employers work, they're dictatorships, you have to follow THEIR rules and what they require to do the job.
@AmericanFreeState2 жыл бұрын
Uh, no. Companies aren't dictatorships. They can't "rule" your natural and constitutional rights void for providing an income. You're providing them a service (remember??), not simply there to collect money and be a Pfizer's lab rat. And, in case you haven't been paying attention, there is a tsunami of class action law suits coming for companies that have forced employees to choose between getting jabbed and feeding their families, which isn't going to turn out well for these vaccine-mandating companies.

Yeah. the old jackets and pants were tanks, and the new stuff seems built to break, at least relative to their old stuff. Not sure if it was intentionally done that way, or just the result of the stuff being made cheaper.

Duluth used to be good but they went to the flex fit fabric instead of their original fire hose pants
@AmericanFreeState Жыл бұрын
Prob to save $ on production.

They sell both flex fit and their original firehose pants still. Duluth is pretty good but feel they are overpriced like Carhartt imo. I loke Berne but gonna check some of the companies people are recommending made in the USA.
