Lake Louise is beautiful , and good downhill skiing . But one of my faves , is further north , Jasper . Last summer they had a devastating fire , nearly. Burnt everything . It will take time to get it back Saw my mom’s apple canisters . Plus I have the matching breadbox . They are well loved . They are quite discoloured. I’ve wondered how to fix that? Mrs. Bouquet ( Not bucket :) still makes me laugh . Really nice things in this video . Loved that antique cabinet with the fancy glass , oh and that flower lamp ! Thank you George !

Hey, George. I've not been well of late, so I'm having to watch a bit later. I liked the little trawler pond boat, at the beginning. Those oak phones were really nice. I liked the second and third ones best. The first one looked like it had a little too much polishing, for me. Loved the barley twist pub table and chairs. It would be great as a kitchen set. Didn't care, at all, for the refinished set. Pardon the comparison, but it had that "baby dook yellow" colour that so many oak pieces get when they've been refinished. That pair of spelter statues were definitely in my line of interest. Those were fantastic. The oak barrister bookcase, next to the etagere, really caught my attention. I'd do some major rearranging to be able to place that one. The one with the shaving mugs/mustache cup in it is another one I'd like to have. I have a left-handed mustache cup and saucer here...somewhere. They're in a drawer somewhere, I think. I used to have quite a collection of Marilyn Monroe _Life_ magazines, but sold them when I moved here. They were all in super-good condition...should've kept them. There are some old player piano rolls here in the top of a closet. Mom had them as long as I can remember, and we've just never gotten rid of them. I noticed quite a number of barrister bookcases there. I've not seen any in this area in some time. I'd like to have that castor set. I've always wanted one of the sets. I've always called those stools organ stools. I was taught pianos used benches, and organs used stools. I have the original stool with my Mason and Hamlin reed organ...with its original prickly horse hair or mohair cover. Loved the big pond boat. If I had space, I'd collect those things. The old diving helmets are super-cool. They look good in any decor, even if it's not a nautical-themed one. That was a really fantastic shop! If I went there, I'd need a U-Haul. Thanks for taking us along!

11:54 gorgeous! That would match one of Nova’s pieces. 21:18 pretty tiger oak! You’re so knowledgeable about wood grain! You don’t even pause to name it. 😮 23:40 that would look great in a Wright house! 26:16 love ye olde curiosity shoppe! I have a vintage postcard from there. 34:38 great for the zombie apocalypse too! Neat video; thank you, dear!!

I am so partial to that piece, Nova has a good thing then! I wish I knew more about wood grain, I know the obvious but have to use references for more unusually seen ones. I would love that lamp in a Wright Usonian home! I suppose even zombies need to keep cold lol

Great video, George. I was particularly intrigued by the Blue Mountain Pottery pitcher you came across (39:07 time stamp). I purchased a blue one like it, back in late November, at an Antique show in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I was drawn to the elegant design, and unique colour. I wasn’t absolutely convinced it was Blue Mountain, as there was no obvious marking. But I just loved it, and got it for a decent price. Now having seen this video, I’m reassured that it’s a Blue Mountain piece. Thanks for your videos. I appreciate how their educational value. 😂Keep up your great work. And Happy New Year 🎉.

Seattle was the first place I traveled to on my own. Lots of exploring and memories there! It’s neat to see a tour of that market; it’s been a while since I’ve gone. Lots of rides on the Ferris wheel nearby. Death Note live action featured the Ferris wheel in a big way. 9:07 that is almost exactly my table except mine is in better nick and was 250. 😱 Do you find the pub tables sell for as much as they’re asking?
@TheAntiqueNomad3 күн бұрын
Oh how cool! I haven't ridden the Ferris Wheel in Seattle yet. I do find that the pub tables sell pretty consistently because they're so convenient with the self-storing leaves, easy to move and fit in apartments and breakfast nooks.
