I would say the Miller falls tool holder would be my favorite. It’s amazing that all the bits have survived over the years. Can’t wait to see that restored. With my mom and dad having nine kids, we had plenty of station wagons over the years, and yes one or more of them matched the toolbox.😃 Thanks for sharing

Nice haul. My favourite is the Millers Falls tool holder. I was surprised at how many bits could be stored in the handle. The Brookstone screwdriver was likely often purchased by family members as a gift to a male family member who likely had to show pleasure at receiving a "thoughtful" gift, but like you, soon found out this was only good for gathering dust. Dave.

I think it is an impressive tool haul MagDad. I'm always on the lookout for wood handled screw drivers. The scew driver - I guess you use a wrench like motion to break the screw loose and then rotate the handle to unscrew the screw. I can't see a need for it. I can use driver bits with a ratchet. I can see where that would be handy even for hex head nut driver bits. While I have bigger tool boxes with drawers in the house as a base of work I still want a couple of tool boxes like that and the earlier Craftsman boxes with a tool tray. If you need to take tools to some place remote from the shop. I also have a couple of boxes with more hammers than I need. They seem to sneak in under the garage door like the mice. Those knives are worth the whole purchase alone. I think I would give $20 or even a little more to a seller in that condition and those knife makers and model. I wonder if the KingKutter rule is a promotion from KingKutter farming implements? It nice and I hope you are able to clean it up with 409 like cleaner to maximize the measures. Love the protractor. Those punches are available and I grab them when I see them. They are nice. Maybe that was better than a whole box of 5/16" punches. The tool holder - WOW. I think you are right about the drill bit not being original, it doesn't have the square base.

I liked that hawkbill knife too and the Brookstone Skewdriver even if it does have limited use. That tool haul is a great deal at $5.00. The Brookstone is just like any other right angle drive on the market today for getting in tight spaces. Milwaukee, dewalt, and a couple others make them. Usually as adapters for drills or impacts. Need to put some force behind the head instead of just trying to hold it steady.

In the days before cordless lithium angle drivers, the angle screw driver was helpful in tight spaces that a screw driver wouldn't fit. When I was learning the automotive collision trade in the 70's, it might have been handy to remove those chrome wheel opening moulding that every car seemed to have. Either you had to remove the wheel or I finally got me a stubby Phillips screw driver and used a pair of channel locks with it to remove the screws holding the moulding on. LOL

The Skewdriver wouldn’t be used to put drywall screws into a stud. It’s more for attaching lightly-torqued hidden fasteners on something like an aluminum patio cover: little 1/4 inch head sheet metal screws. I can see it being useful in rare occasions.

I think you are supposed to lay a finger in the indent of the ball where it says "skew" to apply pressure on the tip and to stabilize the angle of attack. Just a finger would give you improved capability in a tight spot where you don't have room for your whole hand and a stubby. I would still classify it as a gimmick tool though! 😊😊😊

That skew driver was cool. You're definitely supposed to apply pressure on the ball but it might not be for woodwork.

I’m guessing the indent on the top of the skewdrivers gear box is where you’d put your pointer finger from your opposite hand to apply pressure…..I guess..

The spring 1970 Sears catalog had a similar Road and Track Rally Chest with 2 woodgrain drawers plus the top, and the flags, # 6530. The 1984 Sears Craftsman Tool Storage brochure had a # 6531 chest, almost identical. I didn't see this one.

Yeah, the Millers Falls tool holder 1868........wow. I live in MA near Springfield. Probably 40 miles from Millers Falls and a little over an hour from Starrett.. Used to be a lot of MFG around here. A lot of them moved down south or merged with other companies, Smith & Wesson, Gilbert & Barker, Moore Drop Forge (made Craftsmen tools) so many more that I can't remember.
