I finally figured out this area. I literally land navigated off the trail to get to Kaala Summit from the back ridge the first time and found the road on the other side. The trail I took to get to the falls was the trail taken to get to the pond, then past it for about 2000 paces to the third water well in Makaha and then hike 6000 paces (about 3 miles east) deeper into Makaha Valley towards the Pu'u Waianae Valcanoe dome. That waterfall I saw literally goes off the cliff of the plateau of the dome. Of course at the top of the dome and into the bog is Kaala Summit. In Jewish Quechuan Legend (Incan Jewish legend), the Bnai Moshe among the Incan people of Peru started with Jewish settlers from 700 BC - 500 AD that made their way from East Asia across the Tuamotu Archipelago and Polynesian Islands into Peru. When the Jews arrived in Peru, several indigenous incan families welcomed them and taught them how to land navigate through the mountains. My grandfather knew how to navigate land. He is a Quechuan Jew. And I use the same skills to determine direction, pace count, and how to identify land features, on and off hiking trails.
