I also lost my other half, my best part, my rock of 26 years, last February to COVID-19 related pneumonia. I'm so so very sorry for your loss. I know your pain and, although my Mrs mainly loved country music, she did love some of the softer tunes from my metal bands and this certainly was one of those! I'm always here should you need/want someone to talk to. I'm pretty easy to find on the socials! ~Scott Hanley ~ MLAR (Much Love And Respect) 💙🙏🏼💙

My mom just sent me this song. She was diagnosed with lung cancer with a brain tumor 3 days ago. She never really liked metal but all her kids do so she embraces it. She even danced with me to it at my wedding a month ago. I am glad she sent this to me.

My son chose five finger death punch to listen to as they did a rerouting of his coronary artery... He went out listening to wrong side of heaven... After his surgery the surgeon told me they played this song when they were switching his heart over to "the machine" I didnt think anything of it at the time... Was caring for my son best I could in the icu... I just listened to it tonight... For the first time. So surreal... Such a powerful message... I cried like a baby

@@parknasty9400 thank you so much for your kind words. I am so sorry for your devastating loss as well and the horrific circumstances surrounding it. My heart breaks for you. Losing your best friend would definitely be on the same scale as losing your brother. My heartfelt prayers go out to you. I pray that you have been able to find solace and comfort and also know that your best friend and other friends are still with you, watching over you. I can’t even begin to imagine what you went through that day, I wish you never had to experience that, I am so sorry. I would also say to you that I can guarantee your best friend is so proud of you today too because of your continuing to fight and keeping on going. You deserve all the best life has to offer and even though we may not know each other personally love you too man! You are definitely not alone at all either. Two things I learned from my big brother were #1 how to be tough and have a thick skin, #2 I may not be a big person but I can still do damn well anything I want. Lol My big brother was a hell of a man. Between spending 8 years in the Marine Corps, working for the State Department doing all kinds of security details for 14 years, and his final job that he had just finished training for before he passed was Homeland Security, he did so much in 45 years. He and my sister in law lived all over the country and different places in the world. Anyway, sorry for my rambling. I am praying for you and please take care of yourself. Cheers to our loved ones!! 🥂🍻

My husband was a musician and was killed 2 yrs ago this past Nov. I can't stop missing him n crying, during one of my cries a couple weeks ago, this song played in the middle of one of "my mixes" on utube (which is all FFDP anyway), but I had never heard this one before! It was like Micheal wanted me to hear it and it gave me so much comfort, thank you, once again the guys of Five Finger Death Punch had the words in my head before I did and spoke them in one of their songs, much more eloquently, we love you guys!!!

5FDP are definitely my favourite, current era, band. They have just the right combination-balance of lighter-melody and blitzkrieg metal-head bang. Looking forward to the new album with Andy, I hope they truly let his guitar mastery shine through. It's rare that an old (retired) baby-boomer geezer like me...really feels a connection to the new rock/metal of today. However, 5FDP are most certainly at the top of the list. Ivan's vocals are incredible and so distinctive, giving them that 'stand out' persona & vibe.

So sorry to hear u lost your friend. U were friends for very long time. That's priceless!! And you outliving them is such a reality to me cause I am turning 50 this yr and luv it. Don't feel it. Get told I don't look it. But sometimes I def feel it cause earlier in day I was thinking I was still the body of a 20+30 yr old and I can't move. Laying on heating pad, or icing something....lol I think holy shit ..I won't live another 50 (if I do, the world better take a min right now....and pray I dont Lol) I am glass half full kind of lady my whole life....but I have been questioning why am I still blessed and cursed to be here when I get older and hurt more cause I realize life does go so fast. 🤗 Sending u hugs and want u to know I am praying for both of us today. I hope I put a little smile on ur face. 😁 This band is just getting better and better and better....they are the BESTEST BAND IN THE WORLD!! 💋❤️

My husband was homeless in Kansas City, Missouri. Due to circumstances we had been apart for 2.5 years. We communicated frequently. Last winter he said about this song to me..."And I'll freeze to death listening to brighter side of grey and you'll here my voice whispering the song on the wind as I take my last breath I love you Puddin'". He was struck and killed by a train on July 21, 2024. We both are avid fans of Five Finger Death Punch.

My boyfriend played this song over and over for months before his passing. It wasn't until after he passed that I truly listened to the words. Yesterday, I decided to go to his grave. And for the first time in a year, I needed to listen to this song. I don't remember the last time I cried so much. Every single word hit so hard. It all made sense, like HE wrote it for me to listen to when I miss him the most. He loved FFDP, as do I, and made sure our son appreciates their music as well. He's 7 and they've always been his favorite.

Brighter Side of Grey I'm writing this in case I'm gone tomorrow I'm writing this in case I've moved along There's something that I hope you'll remember That life is not a game, it's a song So take the best parts of me Locked away without the keys And know that I'm forever by your side When the lights go down Know that I am never far away When the sun burns out I'll be waiting on the brighter side of grey If you're reading this, I know you're feeling sorrow If you're hearing this, I know you're probably scared Just know that all the things you want are borrowed And all you get to keep is all you've shared So wipe away the tears for me Know that we've made history Remember no one ever really dies When the lights go down Know that I am never far away When the sun burns out I'll be waiting on the brighter side of grey When the lights go down Know that I am never far away When the sun burns out I'll be waiting on the brighter side of grey

On June 19th 2021 my child Shelby Lynn Fenton was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. This song when we listened to it reminded us of my Dad her Poppa, who was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. Who passed away of agent orange from Vietnam exposure. Then my child was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer and it hit me again like a ton of bricks. The day the Dr. talked to us about being terminal. Shelby told me like the song we sing for poppa is what I need to remember for her as well. We lost my sweet daughter on February 23th 2022. When I was told cancer would take her life but years from now lost her with in days not years like we were told. Palitive care verses Hospice care a huge difference. Beloved Daughter, Sissy and Mother!!! So proud of you, Kiddo!!! I so seen you and I am so very proud! Love you to the Moon and Back!!! They say time will heal but only God know that. @Ivanmoody9800 , Day by day is how I'm doing. When you lose a part of who made you whole is gone, not once but twice, several times I lost everything. They said time will heal. Not that I'll forget them but I'll learn to live without them. So far, I haven't learned about living without them. So many people are telling me how to cope with my grief. Even before my daughter passed someone told me if she needed to get a new kidney, she could, but my childs whole body was failing. Can she get a whole new body? I'm just the mom, tell that to her sissy and her children. I know TMI, but at this point in our lives, all I know is that I have amazing pops and daughter who are no longer with me. Thank you for asking. It's so weird that a lot of people avoid mentioning their loss of a loved one. I can honestly say walking and talking to family and friends at their funeral were a fog and met with so many emotions but I love when they talk about both of them unfortunately that will never change.I, as a mother, her Sissy can't understand why all 3 of her children do not have her. She will always be there, just not physically but spirituality. There are so many emotions at this time. I know everyone passes away, but nobody expects to lose a child. We are supposed to pass before your child does, but unfortunately, that is far from the truth. So many emotions so much to say. I know TMI, but at this time, if I can help someone else who is going through this, you are not alone. I will never understand, but it helps to talk about your loved ones.

I think this song makes me hope for the best. For me, my family and whole my country. Ukraine is stronger than ever. I hope for peace and mercy. Ukrainians don’t deserve anything that they are having on these days. We are strong and we are together. This song reminds me of that💙💛

You are absolutely right.... it is completely unfair that one person’s greed and stupidity can cost not only an entire country, but the entire world! However Ukraine have proven to be resilient beyond all measure and will continue to stand up to the playground bully and hopefully have the support of the world

@@psarion I won't answer the questions. I don't know who you are but you are mistaken in your statements. Chek information you read and don't let other people outshine your mind. Where are your proofs? Don't answer please, I'm not interested in that.

Im not ashamed to admit that this is not the first time I've been moved to tears by five finger. But the thing is other bands haven't ever done that to me. FFDP is not my favorite band, I'm kind of partial to avenged sevenfold but FFDP affects me more emotionally than any other music ever has. Such incredible talent and passion these guys bring to the table, the cinematography, the presentation, it's hard to find myself describing metal as beautiful, but a lot of FFDP is just that... Beautiful.

When people say heavy metal is mainly about Satan, screaming, suicide, death, or drugs, I think of songs like this. Such a touching, heartfelt song with beautiful vocals and awesome instrumentals. So much respect. Enough said. 🖤🔥🤘🏻 Edit: we had a choice of our favorite songs we relate to for a Comp class, and I analyzed these lyrics. It means a lot more to me after I thought about each line and how that relates to my life. It's such a beautiful song. Love you guys.

I lost my dad suddenly less than 2 weeks before Christmas 2022. Today is the first time in months that I’ve been able to listen to this song without crying

👏👏👏👏👏. In the 26th July, 5 years ago; it was the date that my dear mother passed away. I miss her so much, but I better now than before. Great song! God confort all that had lost their love ones. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
