I used to be bullied. Learning to fight was how I dealt with it, and would help other kids getting bullied by sticking up for them. Now I have 2 sons and I am teaching them both how to defend themselves and stick up for other kids who get bullied. What I learned early on was soon as a bully meets their match, they back down fast.

for anyone who feels like they relate to this song.......IT GETS BETTER!! if someone told me 10yrs ago my life would be where it is now, i would've laughed in disbelief, 10 years ago I was 13, 23 now, I was bullied, didn't want to go to school, had maybe 1 or 2 friends, now, im a father, have a beutiful girlfriend and daughter, im studying engineering at uni, i have my own car, its old, but its mine, obviously this change didnt happen by itself, i had to go after it, and get what i wanted, and make it happen, and everyday im making life better and easier for myself, there was a time when this song was about me too! those memories stay with you forever, and songs like this, i still listen too, not because i relate to the lyrics like i used too, but to remind myself of what life used to be like, and how much its changed for the better, when im struggling, when im having a bad day, listening to stuff like this, helps me realise how far ive come, and that the road is far from the end, everyday lifes improving and getting better, so, if your 13,14,15 or even 18/19 and relate to this song, trust me, IT GETS BETTER!!! stick at it, dont let anyone tell you, you cant do something, dont believe anyone who calls you ugly, and if someone calls you a slut because you like sex, smile and shrug it off, because we all enjoy sex!!! it gets easier, it gets better, and honestly, despite being bullied, im very much a people person, i find it easy going into new jobs to talk to people, i find it easy to make new friends, but that wouldn't be possible without the 1 or 2 friends i had 10 years ago, in school, who im still very close with now, there were times when i had no one, and i remember when i had to tell the school what was going on, because it just got too much, it took every ounce of strength i had to go into the office and say "im being bullied" and for anyone going through this, who hasnt done that yet, DO IT!!! and always remember, it may seem endless and like lifes never going to get any better, but trust me it does, but it doesn't happen overnight, and it won't come knocking on your door, you have to go after it!!!

FFDP addresses all the subjects/situations that need attention that most people shy away from because they are uncomfortable. That's what makes them a great band. One of their members teach combat at the military base, hence the military awareness. But different members have dealt with things such as losing someone to suicide amongst other things. So they try to get the messages out.

I was bullied from kindergarten to my freshman year of high school even though I had moved states in the third grade. Eighth grade and ninth grade were the worst for me and I was suicidal for those two years, which led to a downward spiral of self harm, anger, and being in and out of mental hospitals. Now I'm in 12th grade and have been doing a lot better (almost 2 years clean). My dad actually told me recently this song and a song by Three Days Grace called Never Too Late remind him of me and he can't listen to them without crying because of all of the mental pain I was going through and he feared me killing myself. I'm glad I made it through all that hell. Suicide is never the answer. When you're in deep depression you may feel like no one in this world gives a shit but once you start healing, you open your eyes and notice just how much you've saddened those who care for you just from seeing you in pain.

I was bullied as a kid because I wasn’t a very big kid. I learned to fight to the point that it followed me through my whole life. Everything became a fight to survive and now I have to remind myself I survived and I don’t have to see the world that way anymore. Hell I’m old now but the affects didn’t age.

I'm 51 and was bullied from around 3rd grade to this day. I'm a 6'7" woman, have always been the tallest in my class (6'6" when I graduated high school). As an adult, I can't go out in public without comments, name-calling, stares, pointed at, laughed at and generally treated like a freak. Needless to say, I only leave my house when I absolutely have to. While I've suffered depression since high school, and been suicidal a few times in my life, I've decided that I've already survived so much in my life (in and out of hospitals since I was 7) and I'm meant to be on this Earth for some reason. Who am I to take that away?

My daughter was 25 went she took her life. Her husband didn't even know how she felt. We all missed how she was feeling her mother her father her sisters her husband. She didn't fall into bullying. She wasn't the victim of bullying or an antagonist of bullying. She left a video and individual letters to myself to her sisters to her father to her husband and they still make no sense as to why she thought her life was worth nothing. The reason that I find this song so important to other people not just teenagers but everybody is because there is somebody my child didn't see can feel but there was some reason it would be there for her I don't want anybody else's child to feel that way a daughter or son or spouse. My son-in-law is only 24 and he's already a widower that's not right don't want anybody else to feel like they have nobody, at some point I lost my child where she felt that alone.

Before I get into the wall of text this is going to be, this is the moral of this story that literally everyone needs to hear: If you're feeling like you don't belong or don't want to be in this world any longer, reach out... please please please please I implore you to reach out because there is someone out there that loves you and will take the time needed to help you. Now into the story: I don’t remember the date but I remember the day I attempted suicide. I had also been cutting myself leading up to this for probably about 3 months, eventually that wasn't enough to ease the pain so I decided "tonight is the night." Downed 27 sleeping pills with an entire glass of vodka (8.1 ounces of vodka). I was very meticulous in my process, I counted each and every pill; I weighed the glass before and after I poured the vodka. My parents were both cops at the time, both retired now but one still working for a different county to keep his pension anyways, they had both encountered pretty much every red flag I accidentally gave off; and I was trying to hide them as well. They both noticed that instead of me usually wearing short-sleeve shirts because I liked to I started wearing my hoodies all the time at every waking and sleeping hour, 24/7; they knew that was a potential sign that someone was self-harming. This was really the only red flag I let slip and they caught it. The night I took those pills I broke up with my girlfriend in the harshest way possible to cut all ties with her because I knew she was in love with me and I wanted her to hate me like I thought the rest of the world did. This night was the same night they talked about and decided to check to see if I was cutting myself. They discovered them and asked the basic questions: "Why?" "What if you cut too deep?" "Why did you not talk to us about how you feel/felt?" and my answers to those 3 questions were (in order) "Why not?" "Too bad." "Because I didn't want to." My dad happened to see my travelling medicine bottle (because I have to take my meds with me when I go on prolonged trips), picked it up, felt it was pretty heavy, and opened it. In there they discovered the sleeping pill bottle on the top of the pile, the newest addition to the bag; and a bunch of pain-killer bottles that I had been addicted to for about 2 months at that point. We had a bunch of leftover pain meds from surgeries so it wasn't hard to get enough. They didn't even ask me when I took what pills, because they then realized that my breath smelled of alcohol and immediately took me to the hospital to get my stomach pumped. Smart move on their part. They told me "You're going into the hospital so just go ahead and tell us which of those you took tonight with that alcohol." I could really see their experience as cops shining through because they were extremely calm considering the next thing I told them was "27 of those sleeping pills from that bottle at the top of the medicine bag." In the end, well you can guess the end of that story because I'm here typing this out. But in the end my stomach was pumped, they didn't tell the hospital that I was attempting suicide (I don't know why), and when I got home my brother and our friend had poured all the alcohol and pain-killers that remained in the house into a metal bucket and lit it on fire. Probably not the best disposal method but it sure as hell worked. Of course he got the ok from my mom and dad to do that, but perhaps he didn't tell them the method he was going to use. The moral of this story is that if I hadn't let one potential red flag slip and if my parents hadn't been dealing with situations like that for most of their careers then I wouldn't be here. I'd be in a box in the ground, only bones by now. So please, people... if you feel like the world hates you, it doesn't. Most of the people in the world don't even know you, but most of those people who don't know you would still be heartbroken to hear about you ending your own life. More importantly: if you feel like you don't have a reason to live, you do... live on for your friend's and family's sake if you have to, anything to get you through that darkness. I did it, I survived... But that wasn't thanks to me seeking help or even trying to reach out to the world. It happened because coincidentally my parents decided to check on their son who was acting a bit more jolly than usual who randomly started wearing long-sleeve hoodies instead of his usual attire of short-sleeve shirts and started skipping out on every single social event he was invited to and they recognized those signs as having the potential for tragedy, and they were right. That is the only reason I'm alive and here today. So please, even if it's as a favour for this stranger on the internet... Seek help.

A rough explanation of depression to those who don't know what it feels like. Imagine an emotion that acts like a virus. Slowly killing you. Not literally but targeting your other emotions. On the brightest days, you will feel alone and in absolute darkness. Even with people around, friends and loved ones, your brain will convince you that you are alone. All emotions will be completely gone and your heart will feel empty. You lose the will to live. Best descriptions, depression is living inside a body that fights to survive against a mind that tries to die.

I can tell you personally the anti-bullying message tho out there does little to nothing to stop it as even in the 2000's to mid 2000's when I was going through high school bullying still happened. It reminds me of the other things that are out there posted not to do something but people, especially kids, can be cruel as shit. I was one of the few that were bullied in my school as I was never (and still not) socially gifted and suck at talking if not behind a screen.

To anyone that is being bullied, it does get better. I was bullied but thankfully I had some very good friends that helped me through the tough times, without them I don’t know what would have happened so I am so thankful that they have always been there for me and still are to this day. PS. The guy that bullied me has a shitty life now. He lost a lot of friends because he was a bully, he has a shitty minimum wage job and is going nowhere in life. I think the issue is that kids today turn to social media for affirmation but when you have people protected from being face to face they tend to say the meanest shit just to spark a reaction. Then it opens the flood gates for the other trolls. In the 80's the bullies only had a 8 hrs window to torment you.

React to “Falling Away from me” By Korn. The song is powerful and it’s from the lead singer’s personal experiences.

I've known this song but never saw the video. Now I need to go over to Shinedown - Bully for a pick-me-up. 😢 I was bullied since a very young age, and it continued well into adulthood with my former in-laws. Even in my 30s it persisted and dealing with the person doing it was potential jeopardy for my job (because I an empath and I couldn't stand their hate-spewing and lie-spreading).

i just hope that one day (i will never hope this day will come), if my daughter has this kind of problems, she will come talk to me, so we could help her (if she hides it and we dont notice).... this is one of the most tragic ways to lose your kids.....

#TheBandSShow can y'all watch and review When The Seasons Change by Five Finger Death Punch?. Being a first responder myself it hits home for me. Pretty sure y'all will like it as well. I wish people in this world today will respect first responders more especially cops. Shit now adays are crazy, seems like more and more cops are killed each day and not one cares. Thank you for all y'all do and thank you for your service!
