Ive been the girl that had to drop out of a bachelorette trip but i paid ahead of time and im pretty sure the bride refunded me my money. This being said i gave her plenty of notice to replace me soni dont think she lost out on the group rate. I would say first mistake is planning a trip without getting the money upfront... because har you done that and this happened, you could have just said ..well its too late to refund you, sorry. Since youre already in a pickle of having paid for it (i know this is old lol) your sister might just have to eat the cost if the girls dont agree to pay her for their tickets or whatever. Like if it were me in that situation, the people i invited would obviously be close friends so i dont think I'd have a problem asking them to pay up. If they refuse, fair enough and it just ends up being a lesson. Side note, this is why i would not do any of this crap of i got engaged. It always ends up being more trouble than its worth and the bride could have just spent that money on her actual honeymoon or a house or something practical. Nobody needs a destination bridal shower or bachelorette party
