My Top 5 Christmas games are Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, Bubsy II, Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet, Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back, and Bubsy in: Fracture Fairy Tales. Bubsy: Paws on Fire and The Last Cowboy get honorable mentions.

Years ago, I was assigned to guard some half-abandoned typography. Night shifts, of course. The place would give anyone the creeps by itself, with that huge printing press standing in the middle of the empty building in pitch-black shadow. Its outlines formed a menacing Leviathan and I had to do my rounds nearby. You probably know how uncanny these things and places that were designed for labor look when devoid of people - take any abandoned factory. Furthermore, after a few hours each night, some weird, yet undeniable scratches started coming from somewhere. Loud ones, not what a small animal like a rat could produce. I couldn't find the source, so for a few nights, I locked myself in one of the rooms, barricaded the door, and waited for the dawn, listening. Still had to leave it to do the rounds twice a shift, ugh, these were some nightmarish trips! In the end, it turned out to be a piece of torn foil covering in the vent - the strong night winds blew there, you get the gist. In my defense, it was a huge piece and I had to climb to get there.

I had a similar experience when I was in school- I heard some rustling, but it turned out to be a piece of paper

Damn, waaaaaaaaay back in the day when I was a kid I used to play Nosferatu, it scared the absolute living shit out of me. I remember this one time I was home alone mid-day so I thought I'd play some - got so scared had to go out of the house just not to be home alone anymore. Good times, man

I've always felt Halloween and Christmas have a common feeling between them, a sense of whimsical mysticism. Gremlins and Batman Returns are some of my favorite Christmas movies and time and time again someone will think of smashing horror and Christmas together for movies but for video games it's barely done at all. Year Walk is the only really good game that successfully reminds me of Christmas and is a horror game. Year Walk is based off of Årsgång which is a Swesih folk tradition where you venture out into the woods around Christmas or New Years Eve to make contact with spirits in order to tell the future of the next year.

I don't have any particular nostalgic connection to Black Ops, or CoD Zombies in general, but the moment I saw the title card and heard the Damned piano motif, I knew exactly where you were going and immediately saw the vision.

My “Christmas game” is Deadrising 4. I know: people hate the game for numerous reasons, but I can’t help but go back to it every year. There are plenty of Christmas themed areas, weapons, and vehicles.

As someone who took 4 years of high school Latin, memories of the class shouting "Io, Saturnalia!" on the last day before holiday vacation are burned into my brain. Fun times, probably one of my favorite classes tbh
