This dude is by far my favorite bird photographer on KZbin. Seems like such a nice guy - would love to be able to hang out in person.

You're certainly a well travelled man Mike! What a fantastic portfolio you must have, & I realise that this is only a fraction of it. There's some incredible species in all of these destinations, hard to say which I would choose first to be honest. I will have a look through your links & maybe make a plan (or two). Thanks for posting this 🙏

Thanks Mike for this interesting video. We have just bought a house in Bulgaria close to the Romanian border and thanks to you I now know that we are only a 5 hour drive from the Skua Adventure Reserve in the Danube Delta. Definitely worth a few days visit while we are there. Thanks also for the rest of the videos as I find them really informative and interesting.

Hello, I now and then go to Bulgaria for birding. I saw you have bought a house in Bulgaria and wanted just to know whereabout it is and if there would be a free room I could rent during my trip to Bulgaria in Spring 23. With kind regards, Michail Sobadjiew

Great video, thanks a lot! I have a question regarding the raptor hides near Valencia. Could you tell me which focal length you used or would recommend (full frame equivalent)? I "only" have a 600mm prime, could this be to long in some occasions?
@MikeLaneFRPS3 жыл бұрын
I used the 300mm, 40-150 zoom and 100-400 zoom on MFT bodies. yes you will be too close at times.

@@MikeLaneFRPS Thanks a lot! I have a quick follow-up question: Is the problem of being too close especially true for the goshawk or bonelli eagle hide?
@MikeLaneFRPS3 жыл бұрын
Bonellis eaqle would be okay. Goshawk I think too big. Perches could have been changed since I was there, especially the Goshawk. @@FabianFoppNaturfotografie

Absolutely super Mike, most enjoyable and really useful information. I would love to visit these places - but not yet I am genuinely sorry to say, getting on a plane and no immunisation yet for corvid - I just would not risk it.

So sad to see places where they lure animals by putting out food, day after day. sorry, but that's not wildlife photography
@puffingtonsmythe86902 жыл бұрын
You are obviously not a photographer! I am a wildlife photographer and I often use roadkill to lure in birds of prey to where I am wanting them to go. One place they showed on Mike’s film were stocking the lakes with fish, that’s normal because otters, mink and birds eat fish naturally. We photograph them not shoot them.
