WHAT: G'day everyone, here is my first piece accompanied by the Pulsar 23 organismic analogue drum synth.
WHY: I was watching a Pulsar 23 tutorial on KZbin describing tne Pulsar's Clock and Looper functionality and I worked along with it, and thought it had potential to turn into a fully worked piece.
HOW: Pulsar 23 for the drum (and drum like glitch) sounds, then a layer of ambient background sounds which I heavily sidechained to a (silent) four on the floor beat. After that came one layer of keytar, "Ken's Spooky Lead" for the soaring theremin-like sounds, and another layer of "Ken's Bass Drone" kicking in about half way through the piece. I chose to use the Locrian Mode with a root note of B - this mode is famously under-used as it sounds a bit discordant to Western ears, but given the glitchy drums I thought it was sympathetic to the oeuvre of the piece.
RESULT: I hope this piece is a good accompaniment to your day, perhaps you are fixing a water pump, or doing a few kilometres of fencing, or diagnosing problems in a diesel generator, or whatever little tasks you have I hope this piece helps make the time fly.
Cheers,
Ken.
