Thing about Ramsay is it's not just the fact that she can light/frame a shot beautifully - it's the fact that she always finds these interesting little details to shoot that really bring out something about her characters. I've seen a lot of filmmakers who are able to make beautiful looking films, but not necessarily interesting ones. Say what you want about Ramsay, her films can be odd, low key, not to everyone's taste perhaps, but they're always absorbing to watch.

You have to watch We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011). Absolute masterpiece.
