hey mate I've been recommended the KH310a by a friend (sound engineer), planning on buying them this week. How did you go with yours? Do you use it professionally? Cheers

@@truthhurts699 sorry for not responding sooner. The 310s are very accurate. They are primarily for mixing. I do listen to music, but to me it seems so much of commercial music uses so much compression in the mastering process. I have some Steely Dan CDs that sound amazing on the 310s. My synthesizers sound wonderful. I am considering a subwoofer. When several traks are all playing at the same time , each trak loses some accuracy. Adding the subwoofer, would lighten the load of the bottom end of the 310s. Adding another crossover allows for better frequency spread. I would listen to them first. I really enjoy them.

I think for music mixing and mastering the KH 420 are enough. These are dream monitors.

Not much clue about the surround side, surround rear, Atmos Voice-of-God monitors and their placement. Side surrounds seem to be placed way too high. No clue if there is a vertically or horizontally oriented KH 420 for the front-center channel. I do not see ANY front-center speaker anywhere. But even if there is one, too bad it fires straight at the backside of the LCD monitors on the desk. 2.1 and some surround and Atmos channels would work here fine, I just cannot see how the front center channel could be heard by the person in the sweet spot.

I'm being picky. Hope someone can explain. Does the position of his setup not reflect off his desk. They don't seem to be in an optimal position for his listening position. Can anyone explain why having the cabinets behind the mass of the desk isn't an issue for him. Thanks.

Hi! The arrangement of Simons setup avoids desktop reflections because of the objects between monitors and desk. If the loudspeakers were close to the desk, an interference would occur. His arrangement helps to avoid that. The low-mid loading can be corrected via the acoustical controls at the KH420s.
