2:20 YES, I appreciate the term 'compensating' as opposed to aiming to miss. I want to focus on the pocket while understanding the effect of deflection on the cue, and throw on the object ball with respect to my stick, speed, and stoke.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of your 2000 5 must have shots! Each and every one of them has been very instructional, easy to understand, very helpful, and logical. I'm not a great player and I appreciate your demonstrations of different scenarios I don't even think of. I have managed to get on balls I previously thought were impossible for me to get good position on by utilizing something I never considered until you demonstrated them.

You had an earlier video about using inside english on rail shots, it causes the OB to hug the rail. I've used it often, it's amazing the way you can get an OB to run the rail, even going past the side pocket when the long rail is lined up/straight on both sides of the side pockets. Thanks Bryan for your time and effort helping your viewers become better shooters, it's definitely helped me.
@kevinodhner7406

Love your videos. At 0:56 you say it can be confusing sometimes which is inside and which is outside. Here’s how I think of it: Outside is when you are spinning the cue ball in the same direction you are cutting the object ball. Inside is the opposite. So it’s nothing to do with being along a rail, or the side of the cue ball closest to the object ball. It depends which way you are cutting the shot. In your first example at 0:32, your cue ball is to the left of your object ball, which you are cutting to the right. Therefore, for inside English, you spin the cueball to the left (cc) by striking it on the right. In your second example at 0:59, your cue ball is to the right of your object ball, which you are cutting to the right along the rail (which is irrelevant). Therefore, to impart inside, you spin the cue ball to the left (cc) by hitting it on the right. I like this way of visualizing it because outside spin throws the object ball further in the direction of the cut angle, and inside spin reduces the angle of the cut.

Yes Sir!!! Do use 'em all :) ------- But not always with the result I want ... typically from flaws in my stroke! It's a positive that I know this. Reminding myself to keep the cue ball closer to me (ie - 20 to 45yd lines) or work across the table but in either case, not jacked up. Getting the physical abilities and the "mind's eye" pattern to jive doesn't always come together. :) BUT -- There is more than one way to "skin a cat"!!!! Another great info vid. Be Safe

Will be very helpful to a lot of players games. Learned a couple of new tricks myself on here. An easy help for players on the 3 rail position shots with inside, where the object ball is on the rail. With a carbon fiber cue, you can aim 1/2 in towards the center of the cue ball from the edge of the object ball. Deflection will make the shot for you and much less power is needed to get the cue ball around the table. For high deflection cue sticks, you can aim almost directly at center on the object ball with inside spin. Again, the higher deflection will actually make the shot. specific aiming more than that is rarely needed.

Love the new table. I couldn't decide between the predator or Rasson but the Rasson sold me with the deeper shelves and 4 week timeframe vs 8 weeks. It's a 9', just under 4 1/2" pockets and deep deep shelves. Got it 2 months ago and went from SL 5 to playing more like an 8 on the barboxes. Didn't know how bad (important) my stroke was until I got this table. Was constantly rattling balls, especially power draws but they go in so easy now how the pool hall. I came up with so many new curse words in the process though

At 4:47 your straight in shot you must be hitting the cue ball with what kind of English. I am thinking about deflection what kind of spin are you putting on the cue ball? If there was no english wouldn’t the cue ball just follow the object ball for a scratch? This question is a must for a answer. I really am learning a lot from you, it’s just sometimes I dream up these questions. your friend steve

Hi Steve I cheat the pocket as much as possible shooting the object ball as far to the left as possible The English brings it back to the center of the pocket and allows me to take the cue ball off the rail. Very good question by the way and thanks for watching

So I’ve been practicing some of these shots before even seeing the video. Getting so so at them but I’m struggling getting the action that really moves it like your videos. Med and slow shots I’m fine but when I go harder it’s not generating more spin. Tips on that?
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards Жыл бұрын
It takes a better and better stroke as you move the balls apart. You also might not be hitting the cue ball as low as you think you are. I see this with many many players. Your cue is coming up just a little (thats all it takes) and you hit the ball too high. This happens more as players start to generate more speed.

@FXBilliards

With left English, the ball is going to be thrown to the right,- so you can say that you were aiming at the left edge of the pocket with left English the right edge of the pocket with right English. As you become more experienced, you don’t think about it that way - you just naturally compensate - but basically that’s what’s happening.

Bryan I am a bit confused on the rail shots whith English. I always ise the opposite. If for example the ball is to my left, i hit the que on the left. Iake it almost every time. If I hit cue ball on the right as you call inside English I hardly ever make it. I am better off using no English then. I am confused.
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards Жыл бұрын
You’re putting outside English on the shot which is sending the ball away from the rail. It’s still makeable, but for different reasons then putting inside English on it if you’re missing it with inside English there is a chance you’re hitting the ball first where you should be making contact with the rail just before the ball.

I hate to say this, I love the new table. But I can honestly say you need a 10 footer because the 9 footer still looks like an 8 footer and the 8 footer look like a bar table. You have to be at least 6 ft 3 in tall. That being said, I love your videos. 😂😂😂
@FXBilliards

LOL Korby, I think you have become a victim of camera angles. Zoom lens make things look smaller. Ever see a pro match and the table looks almost square? It's because their camera is far away and they zoom in. That drives me nuts because they have the time and money to put the camera in the correct spot with the correct settings. Anyway, I am 6' 1'' maybe 6' 2'' tall. My Fighting weight before the recording of this video 183 lbs. - So maybe "skinny" makes me look taller. Thanks for watching.
