I always found the creepiest thing in the first game was Bonnie, in the room with the endoskeleton, just staring right at the camera. Up until that point, it's ambiguous if there truly is something evil about the animatronics, or if Phone Guy's theory that they'll stuff you into a suit because they think you're an endoskeleton is right. Then Bonnie stands in a room, right beside an endoskeleton, completely ignores it, and just stares directly at you instead: that's when you know they truly DO want to hurt you.
@lunarequine7734 Жыл бұрын
I have not played any of the FNAF games in years, let alone FNAF 1 and to this day that particular camera screen of eyeless Bonnie staring at the camera and the night 5 phone call are still recurring nightmares for me to this day. Nothing has ever stood out to me in a horror game quite the same way.
@MrSlendyMannn11 ай бұрын
That and the fact that the endoskeleton itself is also staring at you along with Bonnie. Legit the most unnerving thing I’ve seen in a horror game to date.
the idea that Mike Afton is all of the night guards is actually quite intriguing, as it offers a convincing argument as to why the animatronics would go after him; as he says in sister location, he looks like his father.
@traydeslavic14212 жыл бұрын
It is, we basically follow Micheal on his "journey" to find his dad and kill him. The animatronics only wanted to attack the man that had caused this to them, William. Mike being his son must have alot of similarities to dad so they would confuse him with William. The toy animatronics attacking were due to the fact that Henry had made them to detect when william would be in the building (again confusing Michael with William). The only game we don't play as Michael is fnaf 4 where we play as Michael's brother, the victim of the bite of 87
@LckD0082 жыл бұрын

Scott is honestly such a talented artist/designer when it comes to 3D models and animations imo. You can tell throughout the series that the fanbase providing him with so much support let him flex his creative muscles and play around with the ideas that he wanted. My favorite designs for the animatronics themselves came from FNAF 2 and Sister Location- I loved how he was able to make the Toys, Withered, and Funtime animatronics look like they all have different weights to them. For instance, the Funtime animatronics look extremely heavy and made of actual metals instead of plastic or velvet.

the idea that william murdered henry’s daughter and henry tried so hard to convince himself she a) just disappeared and wasn’t murdered b) was murdered by someone other than william and c) william just needed to get it out of his system and he’d be better after that, is something that’s so fucking terrifying because of how actually plausible it it, despite how disgusted we should be with henry for turning a blind eye in pursuit of his friendship and a dream of success, even after he lost his daughter. there are plenty of men who stay friends with predators, abusers, people who hurt their own and other’s families, because they don’t want to lose the opportunity that their relationship to this well-connected, successful, *completely* horrific person might bring them. no wonder henry lost himself to guilt like that. he probably deserves it.

The interaction on the page was the villain taunting the protag about how she'd killed his father and her showing off some of his old possessions that she'd kept as trophies to rub it in further. It made me have a brief existential crisis about whether or not I'd completely failed in writing the scene, until I both bounced it off more ppl from the writing club and read the other workshop responses and found that that person's misinterpretation was a fluke/no one else had an issue with it

Five Nights At Ronalds has the famous McDonald's clown stalking you if your an employer taking happy meals or just working the night shift. the clown will eventually get you. Ronalds friends rarely join in this killing spree Ronald McDonald does that mostly. Five Nights at the Crusty Crabs restaurant in the ocean Bikini Bottom is basically the same thing you'll never ever trust Square Pants ever again. but love crabby patties the temptation to stay is loving the food in the place. Five Nights in Anime is kind of a different story all together because these female animatronics have a basic lustful drives to want physical contact with real live men. you know the deep temptation to touch the attractive people that you see. well the hot female animatronics will rub they're boobies in the night guards face or the ass loving security night men to death. so how many Five Nights At Freddy's spin off games are there does anyone know of them all? cause I'm very interested in a long list of them. great video I look forward to more and this is something for fun I do come up with these silly names Lechturegeist Slenderella and Grooters it's a hobby of mine and my sister is also creative and wrote three on line stories. 🎸📱📲

Personally I think I like FNAF 3 the most and now I realized why and that's because of two things one is the main game because it's like being in a horror movie where the player needs to keep the killer away from them by distracting them and not having any weapons to defend yourself, the second is the "Bonnie's lullaby" music that plays with the shadow Bonnie minigame which is both creepy and interesting reminding the player of good times but also the creepy nature of the animatronics souls being dead kids who also listened to lullabies similar to that

I'd say that fnaf 4 is the scariest game, the fact that you're alone and the dread leading up to a jumpscare. The jumpscare honestly scared the shit out of me. The monstrous yell followed by what I assume is the child screaming in fear is horrifying. Playing this game was an actual nightmare. Out of all the nightmare animatronics, I'd say that nightmare chica is the scariest, something about her open jaw, and wide mouth, along with her close eyes. She's actually terrifying. Lastly, seeing the animatronics massive size compared to your small body as a child was so legitimately scary, even more on night terrors from help wanted, (Yes I have a VR).
@mmmcloud27712 жыл бұрын
I never even made it past night 2 fnaf 4 scared me so bad. Leaning out the door looking into the pitch black hallway is absolutely terrifying to me and it only took a handful of jumpscares for me to quit. I don't know what sagan is talking about with the nightmare animatronics not being scary, I think they're horrific. They may look a little silly out of context but when they're stalking the unlit rooms of some innocent child's house they really do look like nightmares. I decided to try the game again recently after my little brother begged me to play it for him and started physically shaking when I saw the loading screen so I guessed that was a sign to not bother for now.

@@mmmcloud2771 honestly , after playing the first 3 , some people , myself included just didn't feel afraid anymore. The jumpscares didn't do much for me except plushtrap and fredbear that gave me a spook at times but i just don't have it in me anymore , however i enjoyed Security Breach alot because i love chase related horror like Outlast did , i still clench whenever i get chased by Chris Walker to this day. it's just that we got used to us being helpless and cant even move anymore , the reason SB was fun for me was the story and character we get for Freddy , and most importantly the change of pace. despite chase horror being common for a long time now , it still makes the series feel fresh and i hope we can get maybe 1 more game with that type of gameplay if possible.

I do not fully understand how Scott consistently released games EARLY. And it wasn't like, a week or so. It could be by MONTHS. I personally would love to know how development took for him. I know he had a lot of experience with making games and models previous to fnaf, but I am still shocked he could change things up quickly. Meanwhile, Yandere Dev just released his demo!! Woot! Only 7 years for a demo!
@TheHeavyshadow2 жыл бұрын
That's probably the advantage of being an independent programmer who makes relatively simple games and sells them online only. Without a publisher breathing down his neck he can set realistic release dates instead of optimistic ones, and with relatively simple game mechanics there is usually little debugging going on because there is little to bug in the first place. So he probably chose a later date that he knew he could keep even if some things went wrong as to not disapoint anyone, and when nothing went wrong, he could decide "You know that game I made for Halloween? Yeah, never mind, here you go: Fnaf 4 in the middle July!" without blindsiding people organising supply chains for game shops.

Running with the theory that Mike is actually the security guard in each game, is there a chance that he merely took the name Fritz/Jeremy in the same way he took Mike Schmidt in the first, to mask his relation to the afton name? Maybe he did it specifically in some dark respect to some of the original victims? A bit of a stretch but far from the furthest reaches of speculation.

The second game was definitely the best, I agree. The audio combined with the openness of the office made you really feel powerless and exactly like a terrified security guard. I still think that the 1st one is the scariest and most unique when you think about it right when it came out. It had the right amount of jumpscares and mystery lore with golden freddy and dead kids. It also holds that nostalgia feeling to me and thats why i love it so much. Fnaf 2 is amazing as well, but idk fnaf one was able to scare the hell outta me and keep me on the edge of my seat, where fnaf 2 to me at least gets a little less scary. But still awesome and amazing and are both on a whole new level of fnaf games then the others.

Nah, fnaf 2 was more of a strategy game. It was much busier and the player would be too alert to be scared. FNAF 1 is the best of the series _by a thousand country miles._ The atmosphere that was captured in fnaf 1 was never captured again in the series. fnaf4 came close but still missed. Also fnaf2 is hard to take seriously because the main ambient loop has become a literal meme, but in retrospect, it's a good horror strategy game whereas the first one was just pure horror.

I'd like to just shoot in a comment that most people won't see, mostly for myself. FNAF world showed how much animation experience Scott had gotten to where he actually *could* create cutesy animated characters that didn't exclusively set off all warnings of uncanny valley (on the assumption he was still making said animations, which iirc he hadn't really hired many more people so). I agree with you that the story of FNAF peaked with the 3rd game. Honestly, the entire vibe of the original trilogy felt like something out of an urban legend. That's what made it so effective in my opinion. Everything about it was slightly vague, playing on real fears and anxieties without becoming too bogged down in the details. Like, it didn't matter who the dead children were specifically. They were just supposed to represent the fear of losing your child in a place that ordinarily brings joy. It didn't matter who The Purple Guy was. He was just a serial killer posing as a figure of authority, someone you'd normally trust to keep your children safe. He offered grounding to the more supernatural elements of the horror. It's a story you could imagine being passed down from person to person. This is also why It's Been So Long is the most powerful FNAF song in my opinion. The mother in the song isn't a specific mother. It could be ANYONE. Any mother could find themselves in that exact situation. The emotions she's feeling have a universality to them that makes them resonate. But as the series went on, details started to become the hyper fixation of the narrative, and it spiraled into cartoonish madness. Suddenly, Purple guy is a Mad Scientist Ex Ceo experimenting with soul juice, who died, was tortured in purgatory, then came back as an AI construct. Suddenly, you have hallucination discs and metallic animatronics built to kidnap children.Suddenly you have Michael, the penitent zombie brother who travelled from place to place taking night guard jobs before helping another penitent robotics genius lure all the possessed animatronics into a pizzeria built specifically to trap them. And the worst part is that the storytelling style of FNAF doesn't really do this greater focus on details much justice either. On paper, Michael could be a very interesting character. I can't imagine how much he must have suffered over the years. First emotionally, being the one who got his brother killed as the result of a horrifyingly malicious prank, then physically, being scooped and reanimated as a rotting corpse. but because everything is still DELIVERED to the audience in a very impersonal, roundabout way that you have to piece together like a jigsaw puzzle, we never really get inside his head. I can't form a connection with him, because he's a character who exists only as a piece in the LORE puzzle. What happened to him and what he does is important, but only in the sense that you're figuring out another layer of the mystery. The emotions of what he's going through don't really matter. And it sucks, because forming an emotional connection with these people is the only way the Afton/Henry saga could've been interesting in my opinion.
@vesperfromtheinternet55882 жыл бұрын
honestly yeah, like i love michael's character- the version of it that i've had to infer based on the same stuff you listed! but unfortunately the only times we really get his voice are the sister location 20 mode cutscene and the logbook. the mystery of him being the player character was well buried, but it was a little TOO well buried :/

For me personally I like the first four games. The fourth game recreates a lot what made the first game so amazing: the listening and wait mechanic. It also let's us discover quite a bit about the story but is still vague enough so there is something for the fandom to fill and theorize about. And as great as the mechanics in SL are, it convolutes the existing story so much. And the best thing about Pizzeria Simulator is how it wraps up the now convoluted story nicely and the ending, if you keep all the animatronics each night, was amazing. Otherwise I fully agree with you.
