About Brandonworks - apparently abused children draw/depict themselves without limbs to reflect how helpless they feel against their abuser(s). Just an observation.

I remember being so invested in the original Hello Neighbor, I would keep up with updates and watch lets plays of it, and then I actually got a chance to play it. It was an unpolished, buggy, oftentimes unplayable mess that left younger me confused and disappointed. How could this game with a concept I think is interesting be bad? Could it be my copy being glitchy? (I got the nintendo switch version and I tried to get a replacement copy, not knowing that every cartridge would be the exact same lmao.) It was one of the first times I remember being disappointed with a game, and the same applies to things like the original Bendy. These games had strong premises but they would soon chase trends and in each new version they would expand the overall scope and add more and more things, but those things would just make the final product feel bloated and underwhelming, or even unplayable. I have no idea what any of these "mascot horror games targetted for children" are up to these days but I can't imagine they're doing anything too different from a couple years ago when this was first uploaded.

The more I look back on FNAF the more I dislike Scott Cawthon. His political views are inexcusable in my opinion considering he donated tons of money to make sure some of the worst corrupt politicians could continue their careers. If Scott was just somewhat conservative and religious while giving passive support to the Republican party, I wouldn't like it, but I would mostly ignore it. However he took all the money and appreciation his fans gave him and used it to fuel hateful people who are already so rich off their careers that they could fund their campaigns on their own. They aren't his local representatives, they aren't even devout Christians like him, they're mostly just scummy businessmen looking to hand over the country to private corporations. The only reason people excuse what he did was because they're too big of fans of the games to face reality, or they think political stances are like sports teams with no actual consequences. The whole thing with his support of the LGBTQ+ community just shows to me that he isn't that smart, or he's lying. He made a massive financial contribution to people that are completely hostile to some of the people he claims to accept. He clearly either doesn't understand politics at all, or he's lying and he was willing to profit off of communities that he's intolerant of to fund their oppression. Neither options make him out to be a very good person in my opinion.

Do I accept that Miketrap is super non-canon? Yes. Do I believe that Miketrap is the true best theory of the original five games, because it gives Michael the best fucking redemption arc and tragic punishment? Also yes.

Hey pro tip since your video relies so heavily on the twist of the game not actually existing, you may want to put a warning in the beginning to avoid the comments section until after the video. Made the mistake of reading the comments and lost all interest in the video cuz of them.

Another thing that can make Minecraft unsettling is the idea of decaying memory, in an ever-evolving game how long will the version of Minecraft in your head last? There are people who still call sugarcane "reeds" without remembering they were actually called that at one point in development. This is really its own topic with its own niche of the community, but suffice to say there's a reason people have made Everywhere At The End of Time inspired albums using Minecraft's soundtrack as a base.

I think a lot of people don't realize that there's no way that Scott had the story as planned out and as detailed as it is, And likely took inspiration from people's theories. Like I feel like at least at some point he would put game theory on in the background while writing up plot details

One of my favorite theories that have come from the community is that when the first 10 kids were killed, The five children For the original cast, And five children for the toy cast. That because they were stuffed into an animatronic it was a one-to-one. But with the fun time animatronics and other ones built by William, because he extracted the remnant and likely the bodies, each one of the fun times has multiple souls fighting for control Or just not enough soul to be able to overpower the mechanical programming. " The others are like animals, But I am very aware" Is because the puppet was a one-to-one kill, while later animatronics had multiple and sort of a slurry of souls and unbalanced ratios of the remnant, Like some having too much metal and others having too much flesh, etc

I didn't play minecraft until I was in my 20s, but I mean, there is definitely something spooky about it at times. It's not _scary,_ but it's vast, lonely, and the music is melancholic. It has a way of sucking you into a meditative state, such that when you turn around to see a spider .2 blocks from your face, you're probably going to jump, at least the first time. 😂 So it's like... about three quarters of a horror game. It's just missing any actually horrific content.

Care being a metaphor for the perception of Paul by the Family (Marvin specifically) makes the most sense. Care is the child that Marvin wanted. Everything about Care is a projection by Marvin. Marvin was plucking her eyebrows, gaslighting his wife into thinking that Care is simply “not growing eye brows.” The image of the vase clearly represents Marvins dissatisfaction with Pauls looks. The “tool” is used to beat Paul (Care) into playing the music the way Marvin wants. He’s trying to make him perfect to a standard that is unobtainable. No one can play the music correctly because Marvin is nostalgic about a past that never existed.

I think part of what makes Minecraft kinda spooky to me is how alive the world is, but also kinda not at the same time. Like the largest settlements in Minecraft are villages and they’re pretty tiny but it always feels like there should be more. Minecraft’s world is lush and full of resources so you kinda expect some kinda of large civilization to have formed but there just isn’t one. It makes Minecraft’s world feel really empty and almost wrong in a way. Like something should be here that just isn’t and all I can do is wonder why.

yikes. Can these stories not lean into sci-fi😐Like FNAF children’s ghost haunting animatronics is scary enough, what scared me the most about petscop was the realness. You get spooks like, what if the animatronic wanted to kill me or what if some creepy shadow monster guy wanted to rebirth me cos I’m an unlovable child by jumping through my window because I played some game and knew too much. Then you learn more about the story and its like, oh yeah we’re not having spooky spirit resin controlling spring traps before gta6 or I can’t even get my Big Mac meal with coke delivered on time how tf is someone gonna commit crime in 1997 and make a whole game about it which clashes into another timeline. That ending is a huge flop for a series in YEARS of work, shame.

The idea that there's "two converging alternate realities," is interesting. It sort of made me think about Kurt Vonnegut's novel, "Slaughterhouse Five," which is about Billy Pilgrim essentially living his life in a non-linear time-structure after a specific, inciting event. Maybe something similar is happening here- though not exactly 1 to 1 with what is happening in that book. I do feel like everything did happen in the same universe, but perhaps Paul is transporting back into different portions of his life through a non-linear time structure, causing him to say and do things as Care with the current knowledge he has now- influencing the past, and simultaneously the future. It's an entertaining idea- especially since that sort of paranormal concept sort of adds the eeriness to the story... but maybe the converging realities are not literal- rather metaphorical; it could easily also be about perspective: People can recount and see things very differently from one another- maybe someone misremembers a door being somewhere that actually never was there- perhaps it was a door from another room.. In a way, that sort of is similar to a computer making a miscalculation. The family interprets what happened in different ways- they can never reach a consensus. Rainer, however, wants answers- definite ones. He tries to overlap multiple perspectives at once, tie the dots together to see it try to make sense, he gets close, but never to the point that he knows entirely what happened- much like us, we are left with many questions, and we can only really speculate. How much does memory influence our past, present, and future? I definitely think there is something within the game, also trying to remember from the things it records. It even records things from the present, interpreting it into the game and merging it with what it already knows. it's not a spirit- it's a strange, growing organism, and perhaps, it sort is an extension of Rainer. After all, he made the game, but it's not *actually* Rainer, if that makes sense. He's "alive," but he's also "dead," simultaneously.

I need to preface this by saying that this was an excellent video Sagan Hawkes, and the first one I've seen from your channel. I believed every moment of the beginning. I kept thinking how amazing it was for the OP that a big youtuber just so happend to have the same memories and that everything fell into place perfectly for you to get that disk. My only problem, however, is that I am a giant nerd. When you showed a close up of the disk I wanted to see what the ESRB rating was. Putting the rating on the disk and having it be rated E10+ was a fantastic touch, but unfortunately for me I had a feeling that something was up then, because I unfortunately knew that the first E10+ game that ever came out was Donkey Kong Jungle Beat for the GameCube. My only disappointment was slowly learning that this game was fake. But please don't mistake this as a negative, this video was excellent and you did a wonderful job with this.
