It's a perfect storm of: the game constantly throwing tutorial pop-ups at you throughout the game when you already know what's going on so you just close them instinctively, especially when it throws them up in the middle of dialogue the game suddenly reversing itself on something it trained you to do (i.e. moon time=charger station time, oh wait now it doesn't for some raisin) the game being incredibly glitchy so even if something doesn't work you can't be sure if it's intended and Markiplier recording so his attention is split. Frankly I think the way the ending is set up is a mess and the only reason they turn off saving is a lazy way for them to create tension. The amount of assets they created for the game is amazing but they clearly needed a few more months of dev time for the rest of the game.

@@SamuelCatsy ironically that's how everyone else played, at 5:50 they've entered the charging station, Moon went away & they slowly made their way to the main entrance, seems it wasn't intended, so Steel Wool "fixed" it, but in doing so they broke game even more? looking this back now after lots and lots of people did deep dives into the meaning of security breach and mark talking abt how partially unfinished and unpolished the game feels (27:00 ish) i feel like the game carries SO much lore that they really wanted to tell. however it’s not easy to tell a story that complex and long (in terms of fir example how vanessa applying for the job has importance but then also freddy breaking down at the show has importance and many bits in between). so to me it seems like in the end the bits that were needed tho create a somewhat coherent storyline (that’s also understandable and playable and enjoyable for new people) were picked for the main gameplay up until gregory has the chance to decide between leaving, staying and vanny, leaving the deeper lore, that’s also probably barely understandable for people new to the universe for the stay option. also because once you choose stay there isn’t that one goal you’re working towards like with gregory wanting to get out but heavy exploration of the whole area and the actual story, giving the player really time to dig as deep as they want
