I believe The Train rushing across the bridge is a reference to the episode Scaredy Engines from that ghost story Edward tells the other engines. It even rushes across the bridge like in the episode and the location where it does so seems to be closely modeled after that place in the ghost story.

Wow night 3, it's been a while! I wonder, is the game nearly done? NVM, saw the announcement video. Besides that, so that ghost train, is that the one that fell off that bridge in that one episode? It's been a while since I watched the classics. Sorry for the questions. Also I love The Train's mechanic, with FNaF Foxy's mechanic, I expect the jumpscae to be really heart attack horrifying.
