Very nice setup. You know what your jacket reminds me of the service. My best friend in the Army had the exact same jacket/shirt. Funny how odd things bring back memories. Always wanted one but they stopped issuing them when I got in.

Titanium metal of the gods discovered by a Cornish clergyman in 1791 , and 2 1/2 centuries later it is still the metal of choice for spaceships and backpackers .

Glad to finally learn the source of the coffee container seen in one of your previous videos. Looking at the handle on the lid of the pour over kettle I wonder if it is designed to hook over the side of the kettle to free up a hand while filling it. Looking at other items, I see their alcohol burner is multi-fuel and lists "petrol" as one of the fuels. If that's another name for kerosene or some such, it's OK. If they actually mean what we would call white gas (or Coleman Fuel), then that seems rather dangerous. If you talk to them again, you might ask.
@MarkYoungBushcraft

Yes, the coffee container is my main use one lately. Good point on using "petrol" in the alcohol stove. I will for sure let the company know. Thanks for commenting

G'day Mark, so many options for good coffee in the outdoors, appreciate you showing them mate, it's very valuable content. Think I've mentioned before, having a double walled vessel is a real benefit IMO and I like the little light weight container in particular too. Btw; certainly hard, (probably impossible), to beat brewing on the spot, but have you much experience with thermoses/vacuum flasks, ... like the ol' Stanley and others ? ..... I've never had one as such, (and somewhat unfortunately), I need one, lol ...... a lotta conflicting reports on the web, .... I'd be much more comfortable with your assessment ..... if you have a moment at some stage ......... : ) Cheers Duke.

Hi Duke. This is something I would like to give more thought to; However, using a double-wall container to keep coffee, or food hot does work. Having said that, they are also heavier and bulkier with twice the steel or titanium. An option would be an insulated sleeve or Relectix cozy. Depends if weight is an issue. If not, a vacuum bottle or jar would be easier. Of course, you could double up by adding an insulated sleeve to the outside of a vacuum bottle. I did some testing with double wall water bottles I reviewed and found they can make a real difference. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more. Thanks for commenting

Cool looking piece of kit there. I don't mind the old Nescafe instant coffee but a real cup of brewed coffee would be so much better. I think I can replicate something similar to this on the cheap haha. Great video Mark, Thank you for having a look at it.

The Silverant link is to how to become an affiliate, are u sure it's the correct link? I don't want to buy that double wall coffee cup & have u miss out on ur commission? Gotta support the channel, right? I've been looking at double wall mugs since the beginning, but was satisfied with my diy reflectix cup. But it's the lid, that can serve double duty for hot & cold drinks, spill-proof when closed, and sip when hot or thru included straw. It's the lid 👍 Oh, i forgot to ask what the internal diameter of the cup is? If my titanium Evernew knockoff alcohol stove would fit inside?

Thanks for pointing that out. I am not an affiliate but thought this was a 10% off link for viewers. Now corrected.

Like the style of the kettle, is the filter designed to go into the kettle as well being placed in the mug? Those little titanium storage pots are sweet.

Yes, the filter actually comes stored inside the kettle. You can brew directly in the kettle. Thanks for commenting

I was just thinking about the safety of titanium. I know many people just assume any kind of metal is safe for food use, but of course there are many toxic materials used in the manufacture of metals. Even some stainless steels are not food grade. So, as far as you know, has there been studies done, and are all titanium’s considered food safe?
@MarkYoungBushcraft
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
I have read that pure titanium is totally non-reactive and cannot leach out any toxins but I am not sure where I read it. I will need to dig deep again. Thanks for commenting Jim
@jimf1964
@jimf1964 Жыл бұрын
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Yeah, especially since it’s most likely not 100% pure, and since it isn’t really into the mainstream food equipment, it may slip under the food grade requirements wire.

Good vid, Mark. Is the quality of Silverant comparable to Keith? If it is and they are cheaper, we might just have a winner.

Both companies produce good quality products. They have a few a few differences in designs. I would say the closet in design would be Boundless Voyage. Even then. SiverAnt has more different products. Thanks for commenting

Maybe for someone capable of "latte art" but I am not. I would think the short spout would make it a challenge but the angled sides would be helpful. Thanks for commenting
