Five Reasons I Love the Hobonichi Weeks

I'm using the 365 page in my cousin as a tracker and something i found helpful was marking above the circles which ones are the 1st of each month. That way when i need to catch up its easier to work out where i should be up to

I love my weeks. It is the one that can go with me to events without taking up much space. I do get into a rut in the layout then my ADHD wants something new, and I change things up a bit. I been watching your channel since late 2020, and its been quite a journey watching you switch. The autistic in me will not let me do that. I have decided i think about 5 years ago to take a pen and make a mark in my planners when I first get them It signifies that I am not perfect nor should my planner be. So, I do not mind the errors so much, I just make them work. Take care Sam.

Hobinichi weeks fits in shoebox exactly with a cover on -or not. I/ you can store many of them in one =great for less clutter/storage and still referencing details and information.

I love the weeks for a lot of reasons, but find it difficult to fit my large handwriting in the spaces.

I think the weeks is the one planner I can’t give up permanently. I sometimes feel the urge to set up a tn just for the beauty of it, but I replicate my exact weeks layout in it😊 it’s my safety planner. I would like to try an alternative to it, now that there are many. For next year I have my eye on the paper tess designs weekly notebook, because white paper instead of cream… but, as you said the Hobonichi quality and community are important…

If you are wanting white paper, give the Kinbor Weeks a try. Better yearly layouts, no quotes, it’s dated, about 10 more pages (I think) in the back, white paper, and half the price of the Hobonichi Weeks. It is my FAVORITE!

Thanks for sharing this. If you like the mega but not the cover, you could get some pretty fabric and use mod podge. That’s mega personalization 😂.

I like the size of the weeks, but hate the fussy paper! But I’m glad you’re in a good planning spot with it! You need to be happy in a planner for a while. You deserve it!

I am the same with the weeks. I love them and then I don’t. I watched Rachel in the theory this morning and she did a video on hers and turning it into a reading journal. I think I’m going to do that. Bc mine is just sitting there!!

I would love to be able to go to something smaller like that because they seem so much more portable and convenient. Sadly, for me, my handwriting is too big so I have to reach a season in life where I don't have to write as much first before I can do a Hobonichi Weeks.

I was thinking about using a Weeks as my only planner again. I’m using a Cousin and I do love it. But I don’t need that much space for a weekly layout. I don’t plan much, just to-do lists & appointment keeping. I’m taking my Weeks on vacation and if I like journaling in it, I may have to put the Cousin on the back burner for now. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Great video! I started the year strong with my Weeks. I loved it, and used it every day. Then, I just got so busy, I stopped using it, and said, oh I'll go back and back plan and fill it all out. Well that has been since March 27th that I would have to back plan now. ugh I really, really thought I was going to make it. I'm kinda sad. I never finish a Weeks. I should sell my full-grain turquoise Moterm never used cover, and I have a brand new Chic Sparrow never used, and I can't remember the leather. It was a limited edition. IDK. I use a pocket TN for my EDC and appointments, and I use the Cousin as my catch all, get everything in one place and organized, and journal in the daily pages. So, the Weeks just got left when I got really busy. IDK what I will do.

Use what is working for you, until it isn’t. Or you could start filling it now and back plan if you decide to keep up with it later.

I briefly hopped out of mine, then went back and stayed. I love being able to flip back through pages I've used. The paper is so tactile! I have a veg tan zip Moterm cover on the way, as I want to play with a wallet combo. I'm liking using a cousin for memory keeping, lists, collections, ephemera collection etc. It keeps my weeks cleaner. Did you keep the forbidden fruit hobo cover you had??

I needed this reminder. The weeks is the one I keep coming back too. I'm getting caught up in the new shiny surge of the standard TN. I tell myself it's a bigger version of the weeks, but it's not. I drive myself crazy wanting to switch and in the end I don't. Trying to sit with planner contentment 😅😊

I love the weeks and have been using it for a few years. It is my EDC. Though it is compact, it is quite versatile, and can hold a lot of info. Now, anything larger than an A5 seems huge to me. Enjoy all your videos. Thank you for sharing. What cover are you using for your weeks? I love it!

Oh Sam, it's the siren song of the Hobo Weeks🎶🎵! Honestly, for all of the reasons you listed and more, I just couldn't quit it either! The design is pure genius - so much packed into a tiny package. None of the dupes I bought have lasted and I'm currently back-planning from one of them into the 2023 Weeks, with of all things, a fountain pen (a Kakuno, Fine - I'm a real newb).Who knew! Also using a very inexpensive B6 notebook from Michael's for Dailies (something else I can't release 😕).Glad for your return. Enjoy!!

Which pens/highlighters do you prefer with this planner? I’m loving my Frixion in my Monthly Leuchtturm! It’s has the least amount of ghosting.

The Ubrands felt tip, uni jetstream .7, Pentel Calme. I usually use Tombow brush pens as my highlighter. And they have a monthly planner!?

I began with weeks and I loved it because of the size but not from space, then I tried an original and I liked it very much🫰🏻 Right now I’m using a cousin which I love a lot. I’m really using it and feel very happy. But sometimes is very heavy 😔 and I’m really afraid to go back to either weeks or original 😵‍💫

I used a cousin for several months a few years ago. I love the weekly pages, but don’t need a daily page. If they’d give us an option of a cousin built like a weeks with extra pages, I’d try it again!
