Buying gasoline is a bad measure of cost of living. Gas taxes in Ohio are almost twenty cents per gallon more than Pennsylvania.

Cleveland and NEO's economy hasn't grown since circa 2000 once you account for inflation. Unless your in healthcare, expect to jump through hoops to get a job unless you have a connection. And the lower cost of living is a wash; the salaries in Cleveland are significantly lower than in others cities. IT is the best example; software engineers/developers make about half to a third of what they would in a city like Austin Texas or Denver Colorado or even Columbus OH. Plus in Ohio you have to pay state and local municipal income tax. It's no wonder Cleveland's population is getting older by the minute since the NEO region does nothing to attract economic development in anything other than another satellite medical campus by CC/UH
