I just bought this same exact watch, it's really on the league of its own, very good build quality, built like a tank, very nice feel and wear on the wrist, and just a perfect tool, daily watch Since purchase Im wearing this day and night, very comfortable too

Very much appreciate the review. I was considering the SBDC047, Transocean, but the angular design and proprietary bracelet had me second guessing, plus it looks like the blue leans a bit more toward a purple/indigo shade, which gives me mixed feelings, and also I just picked up a full ceramic bezel, blue dial piece from Edox (Chronoffshore 1). So, I wound up looking at these Baby MM pieces. I was about to get the Blue Hole edition, SBDC063, on a bracelet, but, again, dial color, although beautiful, is an odd teal, it seems, so a bit less versatile. Then I found the model you have, the SBDC061, which looks super versatile, and beautiful, with that amazing aesthetic to which you refer. I've heard it said, if you only ever decided to own one Seiko, this is the one, so that's a pretty good endorsement. My questions -- sorry for the ramble -- first, how black is the black? You know how some dials/bezels can be less of an inky black, and it's not easy to tell from pics/vids on this one, if it's a more subdued. washed out black, or a really dark, inky hue (which would be great). And, do the highly lumed indices stand out as white, or, as some lumed indices can be, or are they kind of off white, in regular light? Finally, did this come with the added Seiko silicone strap? That may only be for the SBDC063, as a special edition model, but wanted to confirm. A bit on the fence on this purchase, and hearing from a savvy, watch-knowledgeable owner of one would be a big help. Hope you have time to reply. Thanks again for the review!

Hey thanks for the comment!! It really is a great watch. The dial is a deep black however it isn't inky black since it's more of a matte finish you do get some dark black/grey tones in some light. The lume is awesome and I would say it's more of a pure white/ivory. It's definitely not a patina lume but it's not stark white either. Anytime you go into the dark from any sort of light it's blazing lol. The 061 only comes on bracelet the 063 only comes on silicone so I would say the 061 is a better bargin because you get the bracelet the silicone strap although nice is only 35 bucks for black or blue. Thanks again for the comment and if you haven't already done so please subscribe it's very helpful!! Thanks again

@@WatchChris Thanks, and subscribed. Nice intro video you posted today! I did actually find the 063 on bracelet, but, as I mentioned, that teal/aquamarine is pretty specific. I have definitely picked up non-versatile pieces over the years, but, idk, the black just seems most iconic. Thank you for replying. Not to keep bugging you here, and no rush to reply, but, I've been seeing a lot more concern about Seiko's QC, now that prices are going up (in line with their move toward being a more "upscale" brand) and I'm wondering your take on it? Someone even just posted here about expectations when paying $800 for a watch. Obviously, a big range of brand options in the $800 - $1200 range, but, do you think the QC issues make it a deal breaker, to spend that much, and should push someone to another brand? Or, is it more a matter of how nitpicky someone is, for the sake of just owning a higher end Seiko? I don't feel any need to carry a loupe around with me, haha, but, in the 061, do you feel the price point is justified here, compared to spending that on another brand? I've heard a lot of mixed feelings about the 6R15, negatives about accuracy, longevity, etc.

@@135ipocketrocket2 thanks again for the reply in my experience with Seiko there are quality control issues with certain models. I have a a skx009 and there is issues with bezel alignment. I have owned many seikos and as they are more affordable the more issues you will notice. The sbdc061 I have I haven't seen any issues and I would like the quality to a Tudor excluding the braclet clasp (which isn't finished bad, it's just inferior), and the movement (6r15 is a good movement but it is nothing to look at) I also have an Ananta Chrono which is awesome the dial and hands are are perfect. The ananta is also the same price as a Tudor... so I think for 1000 to 2000 range in Seiko there aren't QC issues. If there are I would say they are greatly exaggerated. I like the new Basel releases from Seiko have you seen them?

@@WatchChris Thanks so much for your help and wisdom. I have placed my order for an 061! Very excited! And, yes, some very nice releases at Basel 2019. I have a feeling this won't be the last Seiko diver I'll buy. Thanks again Chris, really appreciate your time.

Great video, i am thinking about getting this. But a lot of the reviews i see on this Watch its a different reference number. The only one i can find that looks the same as this is SPB077J1. Is there any changes done or is it the exact same one?

I hate how the hands metal doesn't match the indices... just shows that they are hands from another watch and Seiko just used extra parts. At $800, hands should match.

I agree there is some cost cutting on this watch however I have seen this same issue on more expensive watches from Swiss brands... For the price this isn't so bad..

@@WatchChris It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't also alignment issues, hot spots with the bracelet used on the SBDC051 and 061 and folks having issues of not enough lube and movement problems.
