My honest opinion to rank up quick is to play casuals until you’re good with mechanics of the game then go ranked. My first ranked character. Ken was rated a bronze respectably because I was bad and didn’t know. I played Luke for the first time yesterday on ranked and got him to a platinum rank without knowing any of his moves or combos.

I also think practicing in casuals/battle hub is SUPER important! Let’s you try new things without worrying about rank points. I do this all the time

you are absolutely right about corner carry and i should really utilise it when playing as ken if i corner my oponent its better to risk getting punished by doing a drive impact then to never drive impact in fear of getting punished thanks for the advice

Emailed Capcom ID back & forth for months. Playing every other game online just fine, but maybe a miracle will happen someday. 🙂

I use to be stuck in diamond 1 with chun li for a very long time but the more I played and played the character the more Ik what she has and can do so here I am now Diamond 4 near master

Im still stuck in plat, but hopefully i can get good enough to go all the way to master one day. Im in my 30s and this is only the second fighter ive taken seriously. Seeing young people do all these combos and my old hands struggle lol

@Mephi_uwu absolutely. First thing is you have to understand what your limitations are. Don’t try to learn too much at once! Pick one thing to work on and practice it for 5 minutes, do something else, then practice it for 5 minutes again. 10 minutes of quality practice is better then 30 minutes of misguided practice. Once you accomplish one goal, move onto a new one

Tip 5 is super important. Meter management isn't something I prioritized until I hit Master with several characters. Burnout is death in this game, even moreso with no supers available. I cashed out way too frequently with little reward.

I live in Japan so I don’t know what battle hub is like where you live, but there are a wide variety of levels in battle hub here. You can use the player list in menu options to find people close to your rank too in case you didn’t know!

The idea is basically the same as delay throw tech, just delay your button or guard for a few frames

Corner carry for Ryu Maine's?

Unfortunately corner carry isn’t one of ryu’s strong points but he can end combos with LK or MK tatsumaki for corner carry

Rookie->Bronze - learn basic game mechanics(drive rush, overdrive art, Anti-Air, Special Art). Silver->Gold - make a habit to always roll back after you fall. Learn how to make corner pressure. Stop jumping so much(!), more neutral play Platinum - dont DI to much, learn shimmy, optimal punishments, better drive gauge managment Diamond - i dont know, i hit diamond 1 yesterday and thats where im stop) Play week ago 5-5 against Honda with 1600MR, lol Good luck😈🕷👣🦶🇰🇷

Um I'm plat 1 and still don't land anti airs or really make that much use of drive rush or land my DIs or roll back after falls and still jump a lot. Wonder if we are playing the same game.
