Five things I hate about my Jaguar XKRS

What do I dislike about the Jaguar XKR-S? Well, it turns out not an awful lot, but here is five aspects of ownership that I would change.
Perhaps not the most exciting video to do since I was working with what i'd filming in-between lockdowns. I hope to put together a 'My 5 Favourite things' video when lockdown restrictions allow.
I'm still mastering editing/ filming and am experimenting with how to get the original video quality onto KZbin as videos are uploading as 720p.
I'll also endeavour to say UURRMM less as its driving my crazy when editing but I only notice afterwards.

I have a 2013 convertible XKR and BOY don't I acknowledge the ultimate version you have!Love the XKR-S.I think they should've got a little bit more power out of the XKR-S and buff them up to the 2022 shelby GT500 Models to really make this car more than just special than a regular XKR

Spot on...Ive owned an XK, XKR, XKR-S and now have the XKR-S GT as well as the Project8. The GT has really cleaned up some of the traction control issues. A blue tooth device called Bovee seamlessly lets you connect your phone now. They also do have a CC engine cover that cleans up the engine bay a bit. Loved the video! One more I would add is in America everyone thinks its a Mustang.... errrrrr.

Certainly a shame about being mistaken for a Mustang! I'm not interested in the carbon fibre engine cover as it was a very expensive factory option and very over done in cars now. You've got a very impressive garage itinerary! I'll look out for more videos from you!

Over here in the States, if you pass another XK owner, you're definitely waving and getting a wave or a honk back because XK's are so rare over here. You might pass one every few months (or less) so it's a once-in-a-million occasion when two pass each other. At least over here, the XK isn't the kind of car you just sort of end up in. Rather, you definitely know it's what you wanted.

I love my XKRS and it’s V8 soundtrack. Turns everyone’s head when they see and hear it coming. But one thing I don’t like about it…is when it rains. I’ll say no more 😂

There are some huge enthusiasts out there willing to mix.. Old school jag man here.. local clubs and meets galore, as the Covid regulations settle down. From E types to F types and XK to XJ, love them all. V12 right the way down to their 2.0Lt. Appreciate your videos. Well done mate😎👍👍👍

As an XKR owner, I enjoy your videos for being real world spot-on. Lack of music streaming connectivity can be solved with a small bluetooth device called a Bovee 1000. Plugs into the iPod connector inside armrest bin and connect with your mobile. Only remaining annoyance is that it cancels itself every time I receive or make a call. Have to reboot it again by unplugging, or restarting the car.

I agree about the lack of response from other Jag drivers, I've flashed my lights and even waved at other XKs from my own XK, result- nothing! If I'm out in a kit car everyone waves back even non kit cars! Even classic car drivers give you a smile and a wave. Come on Jaaaaag drives, get it sorted out!

How reliable has your car been? Thinking about buying a local xkr with 100k miles and I'm on the fence as I've heard mixed things. Should be fine as long as I get a inspection before I buy yeah?

I had an italian racing red XKR-S for around a year, a beautiful & thrilling car to drive. The worst feature of the car was the audio, almost as if they had to forget to include woofers it was so bright. Most of the time I had the stereo off and the window slightly open....

I'm normally listening to the exhaust note to be honest Allan. Great sound track. Yes- the system is lacking base but can be bearable if tuned right. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with yours 👍

Many Thanks, recently purchased an XJS V12 1989 with only 16,500 genuine miles on the clock. I have had my fair share of motors over the years & I can honestly say it's the only car that I feel connected to (sounds like I need to get out more). Had a few in the 80's & am loving it even more in 2020!! I find the cars of today especially the interior very overwhelming, have you seen the interior of the new S Class? Have started using my XJS as my daily driver, have had countless compliments on my travels. Cars from that era seem to have a much more sturdier feel about them, one of the reasons for that could be that the cars of today are much lighter. Take Care, Peace From London. 🙏🙏

B&W system, but no bluetooth... So for music what are your options? Is there an aux input? Can you play mp3 from memsticks in the USB port?

I had a 2014 XK Signature which had a USB port in the centre console which the B&W system could read for music playback. This is likely the same. I currently have a 2021 F-Type R-Dynamic with Meridian non-surround system. The B&W system in my old XK was way better!

Loving the red growler topper for the gear selector, can I ask where you purchased it from , is it 42mm and did you remove the OEM topper first or simply stick this on top?

JW I'm really annoyed that I can't answer this as that's what the channel is for - but unfortunately the previous owner put it on. It is 42mm and I'm almost certain the original one was taken off first. So I'd imagine you'll want to heat (warm) the original one and carefully pry off with a trim tool. Apologies i can't be more help. Please comment back, to let me know how you get on.

I've owned my 2011 XKR for almost a year here in the US. My main issues with the car have been the "fear" of problems. I haven't had any major issues with the car yet but I see fellow owners who have had problems finding parts, cost of repairs, etc. The area where I live has no Jaguar mechanics so I am on my own for repairs or I will have to have the car towed quite a distance to a decent Jag shop. There are two Jaguar Dealerships within an hour of me but both have told me they cannot work on any Jaguars older than 10 years! I LOVE this car, its the best car I have ever owned just be aware that you are definitely in a "unique" situation as a owner of these cars.

Hello ! I'm french, and I own a Stratus Grey XKR S (the exact coulour I didn't want... but it's the one I eventually bought !). And the thing that gets on my nerves is the absence of a rear windscreen wiper ! Minor point of course, because I agree with the 5 you mentionned, the low engine noise level inside the car being the most disappointing...

I think you'll be happy with either the X100 or X150 XKR. All depends if you want the more modern feel and performance of the later cars. Let us know what you decide!

Toyo r888rs will TRANSFORM your Jag. The Michelins and Pirellis are like hockey pucks by comparison. Drop in tune and pulley swap are super cheap way to 600 hp :-) I have the same exact car.
