I've had my 2010 XKR for8 years and have accumulated about 185,000 miles on her. Still looks like new, drives very well, and has been supremely reliable as my daily driver. It's been to the track dozens of times and never skips a beat. Of the 3 dozen or so cars I've owned in 52 years of driving, it is far and away the best car I have ever owned! At the bargain basement prices you can buy them for today, I dare say there is no better high performance package that gives you as much for the price. Stellar automobile.

So its the 5.0 version and its been good? Im actually looking into to getting one
@tedgeldberg6498 Жыл бұрын
@@feint007 Yes, mine is the 5.0L, although many, many owners with the previous 4.2L cars are equally enthused. This has been and will have been the best automobile I have ever owned in my life. If you're looking into buying a 5.0L car, regular maintenance (meaning oil changes on a very regular basis) history is more important than mileage. The 5.0L engine does not like to run low on oil nor on dirty oil. I have my oil changed every 3-5000 miles. These cars also need to have a fully charged battery or you will get dash warnings of lots of crazy things. And finally, the one weakest point are the water pumps. They have a tendency to leak, rattle, or break and you definitely don't want to run these cars on low coolant levels. It's best to make it a routine to check oil and coolant levels before you start the car in the morning on a "religious" basis. If you end up buying one, you'll be in for a wonderful experience especially when some young, snotty faced BMW owner chooses you off at a stoplight "Grand Prix." Good luck in your quest.

I own a 2015 XKR Dynamic R - essentially the XKR-S without the extra 40bhp. I LOVE this car, I've owned it for 7 years and it has been a joy to live with. It is my daily driver, spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is effortless speed and comfort and will be my "classic" car in the years to come - I will never sell it. With EVs becoming ever more pervasive, with their lack of "soul" and character, hang on to your petrol machines for the shear joy of driving. Great video - thanks for sharing.

Excellent video! I have a 2012 XKR and love it. We have a 4 and 6 year old and they fit comfortably in the back with small boosters and the younger with a harness as well. We recently went on a 5 day road trip to the mountains and we fit everything in the car. I can't wait to head back to the country roads!

Is there a big difference in price between the XKR-S and XKF-S? Both are awesome!

The XKR meets all the criteria of cars that I shouldn’t have parked in my garage: -long-hood -narrow-body -outdated-infotainment system -bouncy-ride (when driven slow) -70s looking interior (seats, doors, dashboard) -wrong color exterior in a sports car (black!) -etc… But after watching so many videos talking about it being the best hidden jewel in the GT world and probably becoming a future classic I was tempted to drive one. And boy they were absolutely right! I bought one here in California in May 2022 and I am super fascinated by the ton of potential this car has, this car is really a carmodder’s dream!!! 15,000 bought me a stock 2007 XKR w/ 4.2 supercharged engine with barely 70k miles; I think this is a steal for the price and I am so excited about the big changes I’ll be able to make to this car for less than $3200!!! -lowering-springs and spacers $1100 (parts & labor) -side-fins from an Audi RS5 to make car look even lower $300 (since sideskirts for the XKR are so hard to find) -paint-correction $500 (paint is still good for a more than 10-year old car though) -powder paint wheels 🛞 to black $400 -blackout front grilles, side, and rear emblems $500 -black Alcantera interior ceiling upholstery $350 -change all interior/exterior bulbs to white LEDs $60 The looks and handling of this car is going to be even more amazing than the enthusiast here claim it to be… I will upload before/after pictures when I am done with my project 😎🍻 BTW… the car sitting next to it in my garage is 10-years newer and over $100k more, a $2017 Carrera S. 2007 XKR = Great Value for your money! 💵

The reason for scratchy plastic in the lower parts of most if not all cars apart from Bentley and Rolls Royce is because you don't tend to locate them with your hands. I have a Bentley and there is no scratchy plastic to be found as far as i know. But it is all to do with weight saving.
@QuickShiftTV20243 жыл бұрын
👍Yes that's understandable Austin. Manufacturers are getting better at avoiding cheap feeling plastics as customers expect so much more now, even from daily/family cars. Thanks for your comment ✌

This is from a review of my 2001 xkr in 2001. "A British Classic. Forget, for a moment, the 370-horsepower, 4.0-liter supercharged V-8 under its hood. Put aside thoughts of its Computer Active Technology Suspension or how quiet it is at cruise. Instead, just look at Jaguar's XKR. It's sex on wheels! A lot sexier than the naturally aspirated XK8 upon which it's based and not sexy in a vulgar, lecherous, strip-club-near-the-airport sort of way, either. But Elizabeth Hurley-wearing- Versace-at-the-Oscars sexy: provocative, confident, not at all trashy, with an upper-class British accent.
