Had I known that the Fire tablet did not support Google Chromecast, I never would have bought it. The only reason I wanted it was to use as a streaming device. It's my own fault for not checking it out first, but who would think to check that out? Thankfully, the play store "hack" really saved the day.

Small tip (please correct me if wrong..) After installing the play store, do not put in the external microsd just yet, install one random app first. Then while opening that App the play store wants to be updated. Update the play. Then continue...The microsd was preventing me to update the playstore and i had to uninstall and restore the lot!

Great tip this. With an SD card in, the play services app attempts to install in the wrong location, causing the process to not work. Thank you for highlighting this.

If you have a Windows computer it's far easier to do this with the free Fire Toolbox, plus you can remove the lockscreen ads, disable Amazon apps, and make loads of other tweaks wnd improvements.

you will need more memory to load your games . you need to get a large sd card and make the sd card the main storage. its a process.
