Basics of taking care of your used sports car. I use my 2006 Porsche Boxster to show what I've done but the concepts apply to all performance cars.

Some good points you raised. Thanks! Some notes on tires: 1) Porsche says to replace tires after 6 years. If you use Michelin, they say up to 10 years. These are time based, of course, and dependent on wear. 2) The date code on your tires are the last 4 digits on the alpha numeric string. The first two numbers are the week produced, and the last two are the year.

Liked and subscribed. I completely agree with the points you raised in your video. These Boxsters are not difficult to maintain, but be maintained they must !

The one thing you left out were the drain holes in the the battery compartment. They can get clogged with leaves and start a rust problem because no one ever looks there until they replace the battery,

I have a tip for you. When you’re shooting a video hold the phone properly. ( horizontal.) everybody knows this

How is replacing with all new fluid a bad thing?
@andrew100724 күн бұрын
The transmission wears out in a way that accounts for the thickness of the fluid (which increases over time). A complete replacement drastically changes the viscosity the transmission has been accustomed to

Re- changing the transmission oil so you’re saying specialist Porsche technicians don’t know how to do a service ? Or you know better than them the correct method? Not sure what you’re eluding to .

It’s a well known issue across manufacturers. The idea is that when you do a flush (like a dealer) it breaks particles free that can damage the transmission. If you just drain and replace it won’t break the particles free.
