I'm older as well and I've learned that passing the selections of canned seafood when I was younger, has turned into trips specifically for such lately. Saltines, Captain's Wafers, Wheatsworth and even Ritz crackers also in the basket. Along with a couple lemons and a new hot sauce I haven't tried; I'm good to go. 😉

I am 55 years old and have never tried sardines or anchovies until this past week. My 'For You' suggestions from KZbin introduced me to your videos and, Sir...thank you. I am drunk on tinned fish these past few days and couldn't be more satisfied. When I was in college I had a class on childhood development which was fascinating. Kids like ketchup before mustard (sweet = ok...acrid = poisonous). It's a thing. Eventually we develop a set of stones and try the scarier stuff and become well-developed human beings. Maybe, before I die, I'll try a slimy raw oyster. Or not. Thank You. Merry Christmas :)

It's good that you started late, I began my life by feasting upon canned fish. What I did not yet realize was that my tastes would evolve in strange and idiosyncratic ways. The meals kept getting stranger, and my taste kept evolving. The comestibles upon which I feasted took a turn for the ungodly. The sin of gluttony is the cross I bear; for I am only able to dine upon victuals that would turn thine brow slanted, with anger & holy retribution. I dine upon the flesh of man, it is all that remains palatable to my profane tongue. HARK! And make sure this dark knowledge remains betwixt your ears, and hold it with an iron grip! Do not forget my folly! Let it teach you! For I have no hope to look upon the gates of the almighty now...

@@nickgold2012 reasoning for KO as the best beginner deen is because you can find it in almost any store and of the common deens available it's the best and is still affordable. I've been getting into canned fish since starting keto again and god damn I am a happy man. I might smell weird now but I'm happy.

Fish oil is healthy. I'm not so sure about Keto, but, more fish as protein/fat in one's diet is far superior to any other meat, imo and experience.

A house isn't worth living in if it doesn't at least some of its structural integrity to cans of fish and/or seafood

Those look like 'Polar' brand. Really good mild fish flavor, no bones and I've seen them as cheap as $1 a piece.

Discovered something amazing today - throw a TON of Chipotle Tabasco on sardines of your choice - light dash of salt. Life changing! Thanks for the inspiration, Matt!

Had some KO Mak in lemon and olive oil at 2 am last night . Can't go wrong with KO. Having Matiz bonito tonight. Man. The mussel looks good but I'm working my way up. Thanks for the info. It's genuinely because of you and Slow Jabroni that I had a tin for the first time in my adult life. My kids are adults! So I'm working on catching up on my tin game!

Love the music in the intro; It's Bob Ross whom I have met when I was young (not chill). Love tined fish snacks in cold weather. Good vid.

Chameau Anchovies rolled around capers. DON'T touch it. These idiots put additional salt. It could be so great. But wasn't. Super over-salted.

Growing up my mom did quite a few creative dishes with canned fish, usually sardines with pesto. Absolutely love them with hotsauce and lemon juice. :^) Awesome vid!
