I really love these parallels! Their fates are so intrinsically tied to the apocalypse, and they both were initially so isolated from the rest of the group. I agree that it's weird to think that young, hot-headed Five would spend much time with 'timid little Vanya'. I think it may be because Vanya was 'ordinary' so he never felt threatened by her. Reginald's toxic comparison of all the kids' abilities could have driven him apart from the others. Maybe he related to Vanya being held back from missions just like Hargreeves was holding him back from trying to time-travel, or maybe he just knew from Day 1 that Vanya was the best listener in the group and he could always rant about his problems to her. I can't wait to learn more about them in future seasons. I'd also love to explore the parallels between Luther and Five. Both of them were physically isolated from the rest of humanity for a considerable amount of time, and they came out of that experience very differently. Luther clung to his daddy issues while Five grew up pretty fast, which is funny considering how both of them look right now. I guess I've been thinking about their dynamic a lot since I found out about the comic spoilers below. SPOILERS: Luther and Five are actual twins, born from the same biological mother.
