Great tip doing it meal by meal. When I did WW and blew it at breakfast or lunch I figured I'd blown it for the day, so started over the next day. Which is discouraging. So I tailored the WW to 'per meal' instead of 'per day'...much easier to get back on track!

Key for me is low carbs and intermittent fasting. Also, I use a meter to measure blood sugar making sure I’m not getting high blood sugar levels as that can cause weight loss problems. (Some products that say they are low carb are not when it comes to spiking blood sugar). I stay away from fruit, except berries. I’ve kept the weight off 5 years.!

@@3TXSisters Yeah Hi there. Whole Germany is under lock down. Everything is closed but supermarkets and drug stores. No restaurants, gyms, movie theater, hair dresser, nothing is opened. We are allowed to leave the house but can only meet with 1 other person and have to keep 5 foot distance. Getting certain types of dry food and toilet paper was a problem like 3 and 4 weeks ago, yesterday I got everything I needed except my favorite cookies. I guess those who've hoarded have finally enough and the fact that some things are rationed in the supermarkets helps to prevent the always empty shelves. I myself am really relaxed, I can work from home and I normally don't go out to meet with people, therefore I don't feel restricted at all. To be fair, I should avoid getting sick since my immun system is a mess and I would probably die. But otherwise it's a nice sunny spring in Germany (75°F) and I am about to finish my Bachelors thesis.

Thanks for your tips! For me as I've gotten older I find it harder to stay on a diet. Your tips sound like they could help me. When I was in my 20's I finally got fed up with my weight and I went to weight watchers. At that time I lost 30 lbs. and got down to my goal weight. But for me to do that I stayed on their diet, walked 2 miles a day, plus exercised to my own routine at night. I had 10 different excercises to cover different parts of my body. Plus I was very determined. I had been overweight since I was a child. After that I got married, had a child, and with the stresses in life I gained all my weight back, plus more. That is where I am right now. I can't walk like I use to because I have a bad leg. I also use a Walker. So things have changed quite a bit for me. As always thanks for your ideas and enciuragement.

I've been there I've done the yo-yo dieting I have to tell you I don't consider what I'm doing keto but I consider it modified keto the good thing about it is is because you're eating a lot more fats it keeps you. You're not constantly craving

Point # 3 is key for me! It's all about substitutes. If I want something sweet, I can bake something with Keto approved ingredients to satisfy that craving. I think your point about "not beating yourself up" is so important, too. That kind of negative thinking can derail all your good progress!

Intermittent fasting has been a blessing for me. I usually do 16:8, but am contemplating an 18:6. The problem is my diabetes and the fact that I am still working [essential employee]. I cannot do a smaller window with working outside the home. Low-carb has also been a benefit. I am slowly NOT craving all the junk starch and am working on things to kill the Sweet Tooth without ballooning my gut over it. TBH- I find myself not feeling good after eating conventional sweets more and more. I'm not a slave to my scale, but I guesstimate that I've lost 4-5 lbs. since I've gone IF. I'm hoping to shed even more over the Summer and keep healthy. Thanks for a wonderful video, MM. It is always nice to know that we are all in this together! :)

You have a great attitude! I know I’ve gained some weight while being at home and I need to reel that in! I did want to comment on one thing though. At our age exercise doesn’t really help much with weight loss. Moderate exercise is what we should be doing. When we work out too hard or too much at this age we don’t have enough estrogen to quickly recover like we did even 10 years ago. Our body sees it as stress and will store cortisol which will add to belly fat. So what we put in our mouths is really the key to weight loss, and you’re doing a great job with that! BTW, today I caught up with you and I am also double nickels! 😂🥳
