"Heineken? Fuck that shit! PABST! BLUE! RIBBON!" 30 years later, "Blue Velvet" still sends chills down my spine, and Dennis Hopper's Frank Booth stands out as one of the most memorable and menacing villains to ever grace the silver screen.

Letterman always seemed to have a boyish fascination with hard-core druggies and alcoholics. Hopper is doing a good job of being gracious here.

I've often said, when an actor can make you hate or fear one of the character's that they are portraying, that is a great actor..Dennis was such an underrated, yet great actor, he could play a whacko/sicko about as well as most, if not all of the GREAT actors....simply an amazing talent !!!
@powerglover2021

I agree. There use to be actors that I hated because they would always play the bad guys. I came to realize that they are just really good actors to as you said, hate and fear them.

Dennis was a modern artist, through and through. The abuse was a project. Renown for his creative photography, he hung and collected with modern expressionists. He ventured and that's the coolness.

Dennis Hopper, Blue Velvet, Frank, taught me to dive a bit, to go below the surface, in the attempt to figure out, to understand, why we humans, over and over, end up as these dysfunctional, violent idiots. So to this date, Dennis Hopper, is the most important actor in my life. Thank you Mr. Hopper. Your contribution will not be forgotten.

River's Edge is a sadly underrated film. Its theme? APATHY. A troubled young man kills his girlfriend and leaves her nude body in the woods and no one seems to care. Wow! What's more chilling than that? IT WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY!

I'm talking about doing this during the days of this interview, now, 2019, I would highly advise anyone to stay away from ALL DRUGS!!! these days, u dont know what's mixed in there with it, and if u do know for a fact it's not mixed with anything, theres still the highly addictive properties to whatever it is you're taking cause times have changed for the worse when it comes to the partying scene....its best to just be sober, that's what I do now.
