There is a reason we have a 24 hr news cycle & new polling coming out every other day. That is the Trump Effect. The first time I saw him on TV speaking from the Oval Office, I was so shocked - the President of the United States couldn't even speak in coherentvsentences! (I too was in this group but Sarah Palin was proof to me of where the party was going & what the GOP really thinks of their voters. Palin & McConnell are why I left the party. Even though I knew in doing so, I would also be walking away from my parents & siblings. ) 2) Religion. Religion has already conditioned their mind to believe some very unbelievable things just because those things are often repeated as truth. They are taught Jesus is the shepherd & they are his flock, so they blindly follow along. (All the while calling those who don't agree with them "Sheeple") This conditioning is so ingrained in them that it works even on the Christians who have never stepped a foot in church in their lives. For those who do attend church, especially in the Bible Belt, you vote for who your pastor tells you to vote for. I attended a church like this for awhile & it never occurred to me that I was the only 1 without a Bush-Cheney sticker on my car. It was pastors 2 sermons after Katrina hit that I woke up to what this Church of Nazareth was all about. Being raised Southern Baptist, this church felt familiar. Until they passed me a Bush-Cheney with my hymnal. When I left it cost me a promotion at work. (I was brought into this church by my boss, his wife & the co-workers they also pushed to start attending this church.) Women in these churches will voter exactly as their pastor tells them to, even on abortion. And if they find themselves in 1 of those cases where she needs the care or she will die, she will see it as God's Will & reject it even if she already has children at home who still need their mother. 3) The other way women end up happily following Trump is they are under educated/poorly educated. Trump has even come right out & says he loves the poorly educated. The GOP plays a long game & plays it well. Ever since they were forced to segregate schools they have done 2 things, chosen abortion as their new thing to outrage farm their followers with. The other? They systematically have been dumbing down the public education system. You see it across the board but you REALLY see it in black & brown communities & poor rural communities. These women will all follow along & do exactly as their pastor, husband or father tell them too. This is how I knew I would be losing my family when I walked away. Our father wrote down who we were supposed to vote for & we were expected to do as we were told. So dad got his vote duplicated 5 times. It's just how they do it. While this race is close, the only reason for that is the Electoral College. The GOP long ago figured out how to rig that system. The Electoral College is exactly the reason many Americans feel their vote does count so why bother. Unless you live in 1 of those Electoral College states that gets all the attention as election day draws near, your vote won't be counted in the 1 that counts. It comes down to a hand full of Electors who are in no way obligated to cast their vote for the person who actually won their state. They can even write in Mickey Mouse (& they have) Until we abolish the Electoral College, our presidents are selected, not elected. One look at the Supreme Court will show you how many times a who lost the Popular vote got to put a justice or in Trump's case 3 Justices on the bench. Don't believe the propaganda that ½ of America loves Trump. If the popularity contest won the race, Donald Trump would've never been anywhere near the White House. The amount he loses by shows you. The truth of how many Americans can't stand Trump & we're a hell of a lot more than ½. This race will come down to Pennsylvania. Trump needs to win Pennsylvania, keep North Carolina & flip Georgia back to Red. If Kamala loses Pennsylvania, she needs to win every other state in the Electoral College.

No, Dr Lee explains that Trump’s illness is contagious like a virus, and that it infects others. That’s why her book title is Contagion. That means people that follow him can recover once his influence is neutralized. Germany recovered from Hitler’s influence and put laws in place to stop it from happening again. @@keriwyckoff2762 actually Merchan and I absolutely agree -he has never accepted any culpability , remorse - how can the Judge do anything but give a sentence commensurate with that - otherwise it really makes the jury a joke . Why should people disrupt their own lives - to serve on a jury - and render a verdict - only to have a judge turn it into a complete waste of time. 34 guilty counts - the jury could not have been more clear - he has not only not expressed any remorse or contrition - how can the judge give him anything but something near the maximum sentence .

At the start it is normal for candidates to walk to the center and shake hands. I believe Harris expected that as she walked in front of the podiums but Trump sloped off behind his hoping to insult her..imagining she would be stranded on the stage. However she saw him and pivoted to cross the stage and in doing so made him look small and petty. He never recovered from that shock..

Merchan delayed sentencing, per legal experts, likely because he wants to directly incarcerate Trump. He can not incarcerate Trump the candidate. IF FACT, Trump would campaign and raise money on the sentencing. Dr Bandy Lee and her consensus of mental health professionals were blocked from media, NPR interview canceled, and Congressional meeting (or press conference?) canceled by NYT and the American Psychiatric Association. A winner has no need to immediately run to the Spin Room where the purpose literally is to spin a narrative. But I'm curios to hear Dr. Lee's take on their 2nd meeting. The 2nd handshake. The handshake at the Sept. 11th Memorial. As a survivor who has done the work of healing & learning how to co-parent with a Malignant Narcissist with Sociopathic Tendencies, (they Counter Parent) I am very interested in how Dr Lee read this entire encounter. Especially Bloomberg's part in it & what she thinks of the way Donald chose to do this literally right in front of Biden & Bloomberg deliberately using his body to shield that handshake from the world.

​@themoontoonshines923 Agreed, I have yet to see Dr. Lee give the wrong advice on how to deal with Trump & anyone like him. I discovered her in 2016 through her work with Dr. John Gartner. Both of them have been the lifeline to sanity for all survivors who were also trying desperately to warn people about Trump & MAGA. They extend validation to everything we've been saying. Also, their works have continually given us resources to use when we needed them most. Equally as important, they have given therapists resource materials to use when deprograming anyone leaving the Trump/MAGA cult.

I think Trump walked in that way because he wanted to see if Kamala would observe the civilized debate protocol of the handshake. He wasn't going to offer up the class move, himself.
