They spent the most time at the vendors they do most business with and actually know reps. If you want more prv and Brazilian news I suggest a stuntwall channel, or a low budget one. 5star doesn't install low budget Brazilian amps so why would they throw away valuable time doing so?

When they got bought by that Chinese company in like late 2020 they have just plummeted. Now they are only concerned with how many $299 Car Play head units they can push online. The days of any high end 4 or 8 series double dins seems to have vanished. It's quite sad as I loved selling their head units because I felt they had the best user interface for consumers

@melissathompson7229 I do miss the heyday of Pioneer. When I was a kid they were right up there with Kenwood and Sony. Now it seems like they are a half step above the white box brands.

i was a little sad that there werent more of the high end sq manufacturers there. I realize its not a car audio show but it is for highly customized rides so i was expecting more i guess. What was there was pretty dang cool though :) -- i was just hoping i might get to see some Morel LOL

Man, im not sure what to think about the Harmon booth. Do they really think the guy who owns a flat black lowrider is shopping for their products? A Mercedes or Lexus seems a lot more appropriate. People that are really focused on sound quality.

Good opportunity to ask why only automakers' stereos offer text communication to your phone (aside from Carplay/AA modes being used). Why is this feature not available from the big names? Why can my crappy Toyota radio read a text to me while I'm listening to FM and my Kenwood Excelon cannot?

Certain ones can through the SMS icon that lights up to show if it works with your model phone. I think once Carplay and AA became a thing it didn't make sense to invest any time or resources into it. Single dins are basically dead as every car since like 1996 can get a double din. I understand it's frustrating, I'm just speculating as to why.

@@melissathompson7229 Do you know a particular model number by chance? My searches have always come up with nothing. I'd like to take a look at its specs just for curiosity. Seems this feature is still desirable, regardless of Carplay/AA, so it's just something I wondered about. You would think an Android stereo (which are very popular in Asia) would do this easily, but that's not the case either. I thought the Kenwood I bought could do it as the manual seemed to allude to it and when I paired it to my phone, there was hope. But in the end the "text message" ability never showed up on my phone's settings like it does for my Toyota stereo.

Seriously? You can see the work they do. They show you what their installs are. You can see the care and attention to detail. Should they care about Yelp or Google reviews? Seriously. Is their business going to suffer if some bad reviews exist?

@@JasonWW2000 just saying it seems that their customer service skills are abysmal. After all they are a client facing company but if the client can’t work with the business then there is no point is there. Plus as I stated before, it seems that they have previously negated their agreed upon times of service so no matter what skills they may have, if one can’t get to utilize their service it makes their talents null and void. Look up the several reviews and make the decision for yourself however, when reading said reviews you’ll be surprised as to how quickly several patterns start to arise.

I looked at Google reviews. 4.7 out of 5. I think that's really impressive. You can't please everyone. A couple of the people complained about Paul or whoever handles the phones and scheduling. I haven't looked at Yelp, but I don't think they have anything to worry about.
