Hey, one more thing. When the display is tucked in , does the siri work? I mean, is it still functional?

I use Google Assistant, not Siri, and I haven't tried it while the display is tucked in. I'll try it tomorrow morning and get back to you! As for the mechanism, it's opened and closed about 10 times a day since I've got it (40 days ago) and it hasn't loosened up in that time! Obviously I don't know how it will hold in up a year or so, sorry.

Great review! I currently have an avh-4200nex installed in a '07 Wrangler.(so as I understand it should plug right up to my existing conector) I am wanting to install a president Mckinley CB (a din sized unit) due to the limited interior in a jeep I was considering upgrading to this unit and shoehorn both 1 din units into the 2din space. any foreseeable issues? Finally, what is the difference between the 3300 nex and the 3400?

My Volvo 240 has a visor above the radio and I am pretty certain that I'd have to install this upside down in order to get it to work... Is there a setting so you could flip the screen so it displays its image upside down?

To make the screen look right they would also have to make the menus display in 720 or 1080. The problem is these do not have enough power to prosses the menus in that screen resolution.

couple questions: why is there that icon when listening to BT audio on this 2017 model but the double dins have zero icon (just blank space)? is it possible to turn off that icon in the BT settings? Also when you showed the album artwork over BT..... did you have BT audio connected and then plug in the phone for the iPOD artwork to show or did it do that completely wirelessly? +jay brooks it is a total new radio from the ground up. It has a better sound quality then the 7800. With that being said if you don't need CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXm, or USB it might not be worth updating.

I think, your ordinary iphone cable will work well. There will be a female connector/usb port. You just need to plug ur phone in for carplay. Hope it helps.

I have this unit and it does partially block my vents. If I need more air flow once I have the music running that I like I retract the screen and have full vent air flow. The unit will keep playing the music.

Is it fast charge while on Android Auto? What size hard drive will work? I think the 3800bt is limited by number of files. And flac can be a pain, if it's over 24bit it just won't play. (Error). I wonder if it will down play it like 1080 video.

Pioneer is still selling 600 dollar decks with 800x480 screens and resistive touch??? It is a damn shame that in 2017, a 25 dollar cell phone has a better screen than a 600 dollar deck.

Mikey not just pioneer. Look at alpine, Kenwood, clarion, Sony and etc.. Non of them will do a true 1080P screen like the a regular tablet.. TBH all these manufacturers can make these possibly with full android but choose not too. It might be "too good" for the consumer or its just competition..

I know all of them are guilty of it. The only thing that I can think of, is that ONE day, the supply of these low-res resistive touch screens and SoC's from 2007 are going to dry up. So they will HAVE to move on to something better. They just have no excuse to be still selling this 2006 level technology at a 2006 price. These double din's probably only cost 20-30 bucks to build. They claim that the Apple/android/bluetooth/SiriusXM licensing contributes to the cost, but it shouldn't be hundreds of dollars. I can see 20 bucks a unit MAX for licensing and royalty fees. High-res capacitive screens are dirt cheap, and so are high speed, high efficiency SoC's. I have a 2015 model Pioneer double din, and it STRUGGLES to play low-res video files off of a usb stick, so pathetic. I actually had to go buy a DVD burner for my computer so I could get stutter-free video playback on my double din.
