Fix CMOS Checksum Error on Smart Table 442i

Thanks Safftech for this video. It did work for me, however i had to do lots of win 7 updates and have somehow lost how to get the table started automaticaly. I am now booting into windows 7 everytime i restart.

Hi, thanks for this video. It’s been very helpful. I followed every step, but I am still getting the CMOS Checksum error. The new battery is working because the time/date was saved after reboot. Any other ideas?

Hi, I will go back , remove the battery again and will carefully notice the copper prongs that connects the battery on motherboard. It is possible that while removing the battery the copper prongs gets bend and does not make proper connection. This battery is in very awkward position and needs to be taken out very carefully.. If you can change the battery and try again. Failing that try a USB boot, and see if you can restore after reboot. Thanks and good luck.

The battery holder popped off the board when I tried to take the battery off. Any ideas? Can I just solder it back on the board?

Thats all you could do to try and solder it back, and hopefully the unit will work properly. All the best.

@@SaffTechnology Didn't work. There seems to be nothing on the board that holds solder. As if the layer with the metal contact the battery tray was connected to sheered off with the battery tray. Thanks anyways.

I cannot get it to boot pc back into windows. It seems that the unit is way too old for any more use. Now when Windows 11 is the new guy in town, windows 7 based OS are limited to what they can do.

I recently got our table up and running but now it will not update, it says it is not connected to the internet even though it is?

I did this fix and the date and time are good and the checksum error went away but now I’m getting a boot error that tells me to check a cable

I replaced the battery and updated the date but still get the checksum error.

Check back in BIOS if the date has actually been updated. If the date is not what you updated to then the battery has not done its job. Try with a different battery, if still not, then I am afraid this battery-holding module unit is gone.
