@@itssluhh556you can try many methods, it’s usually because dust or other debris is in the controller causing the drift so use a DAMP, towel, not wet not soaked, just with a little water, and maybe some alcohol and that should do the trick (not actual alcohol) and if that doesn’t work me personally I’d just use a different one

I carefully poured a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol onto the joystick as I move it around and pressing up and down. I had one that was beginning to act up, and 3 others that were very bad and 'retired' for the problem. I was lazy and did not want to tear them apart. It worked and I didn't even need a screwdriver.

Real explanation there’s something that kinda looks like a chip microchip texture and the entire controller called a board you need to get that switched. You need to test if you actually have stick drift first I’ve been playing forever.

Stick drift on series x controllers are updated to make it happen I recently updated my controller last week and it’s been drifting since prior to that update it was totally fine I’ve been forced to go back to using my white xbox one controller it has an update but there is no way I’m going to update because it’s planed once you update these companies brake them so you are forced to buy another controller what makes me feel this is fact is when you contact customer service they instantly ask you the controller serial number so know which ones are likely to be old enough to make it seem like they are broken and wearing out due to being used a lot but out off all the controllers i own some going on 24 years old and they work just as god as the day I first used them and this is the first time I’ve ever had a controller get stick drift

For me I wasn't cleaning my Controller after I finished using it and as the day goes along I see dust appears more and more onto my Controller but still didn't care enough to cleaned it until, I use it again to play some games and that's where the stick starts drifting down randomly sometimes, after I did some research I found out that my Controller has stick drift and I was frustrated, so I tried some methods including this video here and to my surprise it actually works so now I've been taking really good care of it after that incident, don't want to face that issue ever again can't afford to buy another controller without a good reasoning and time

each new generation of xbox controller give you trouble faster than the previous one. i replaced my xbox one controller when the left stick was so worn down that half of rubber has already broken off. the new one suddenly has insane stickdrift. it sometimes goes full input while being centered and not touched at all. the controller is pretty new, zero wear on the sticks etc yet its already broken and i have never dropped it or anything like that

The same thing happens to me with the original controller of the xbox series x, I have noticed it more in red dead redemption 2 because it has a very fast movement response the controller when I leave it in the center the character continues to move a little

Tried this on hundreds of controllers, and it doesnt work. More often than not, its the wear and tear the potentiometers do when playing games such as COD. Getting that part replaced, a new module soldered on, or getting a new controller is the fix. These quick DIY fix's WILL NOT permenantly fix stick drift
