In this video, Steve shows you how the interaction of the feet with the ground actually assists us in creating whatever positions and movement we'd like.
By using these tips, drills, and basics, you can fix most flaws by changing your ground force profile. Hit your driver longer and straighter and with more clubhead speed!

I've been working on sorting out this early extension-business for a while. Definitely made progress with feeling of pushing chairs and the like. But after coming across this video I tried it out on the range and holy crap how this grf move clinched it for me. Thanks a million!! I am on to a winner and You Sir are on to a new subsciber... all the best, Martin,

The pushing of the left heel towards the ball at transition is similar to shoving the left hip backwards perpendicular to target line, is similar to dropping the trail shoulder closer to the ball, is similar to squatting...anyone can try these "feels" on for size. To me, without a fall back onto the left heel at the top, none of these feels can be found...we have to wait for that counter fall back to the left. Thank you Sir.

This is a brilliant video, explaining the correct use of the ground forces to me for the first time. I've been doing it wrong for 30+ years and this has made a huge difference after just one session at the driving range. Thanks Steve

Steve, thank you, thank you, thank you! I am single digit handicap but I have been grounded by occasional early extension, especially for long shots, not so much shorter irons. Your capture of left foot move to clear hip/torso is single best contribution to my game. Giving me more distance and more importantly consistency. You need to add putting insight/tip since you are getting more distance, more consistency and more greens hit in regulation. Still have to get ball in hole. Any clever advice here, if as insightful as long game, would go a long way to getting me to scratch. Thank you again for this channel. Probably singular best crystallization for me about understanding my own swing.

Thank you for this video Steve, can’t wait to try this one on the range.....looks like it could be the silver bullet to finally kill early extension.

My first goal for off-season practise was to loose my early extension. I’m getting there. I’m drill at home without a ball. Maybe next step could be a better release or throwing my club for more speed. (Getting a speed radar in few weeks). It’s about 100 days until the range opens so lots of time to drill.

This is a really detailed video and interesting; when i re-looked at the video of your swing in slow motion a few times, I noticed something interesting and I think something that is apparent in swings from Bubba Watson and Justin Thomas (among others): in transition, do you see how your left foot actually steps “in the bucket” (to borrow a baseball term) and splays out slightly along a 45 angle to its setup alignment? I am amazed I have not observed that before, but I am curious to try this movement out and feel like it may assist in improving overall transition sequencing. In baseball of course stepping into the bucket is considered a bad thing - but maybe on the golf swing plane it’s a way to improve strike and efficiency. And maybe the historical thinking about stepping slightly into the bucket in baseball as being a bad thing is actually a myth. Because Trout and Pujols sure look like they are pivoting along their lead heels in a very similar movement

This is so cool, and as you mentioned so quick to apply! My question is are we supposed to keep using that sheer force ‘pushing against the front of mat feeling’ though impact AND follow through or is there another feeling post impact? Thanks so much for your videos:)

I believe those forces will be replaced by other forces before you've struck the ball.

Steve - Great work as always, the early extension is the result of a shut club face or too much inside swing plane. could you explain how track man measures swing plane? Also been watching some old David Duvall swings he is definitely a "flapper", he needs to come see you!
