I spend 4 hours resetting, backing up and downloading apps when all had to do was this. You just made my mom super happy. Because it was her phone I was trying to fix. I'm sorry my last answer was completely wrong! I was distracted. Your music will come from your speaker on the back of the phone and voice will come from the back of the phone in hands-free mode, and your conversation during normal talking mode will come from your earpiece. Sorry about that!

I did all the troubleshooting tricks you can think for this, even factory reset and changing rom :P lol. With a little search I ended here and with a flick of a tooth pick my trouble was gone. Spent hours working on it before searching. Thank you for this video.

+TheZombieMinecart this will work with ANY phone if the audio port is full of pocket lint. And to answer your question, yes it will work on an HTC. The phone in the video is an HTC Desire HD.

Rather than poke a paper clip into any of those holes...I suggest using a hoover to clear the dust from your phone... A few seconds will do the job.

If your phone spends a lot of time in your pockets and your pockets are dusty, this can really affect you! (dust can also affect your charge port and your audio port as well, if you have an audio port that is. I have videos for those by the way if they don't work properly.)

I have a Moto G4 (2016). My phone stopped working over night. The volume is all the way up and I don't hear my ring tone can't answer calls or hang up because it's frozen on answer choice. I tried playing videos on KZbin and snapchat to see if everything else was wrong too and they were. No videos play the videos freeze up and don't play. I've restarted my phone and I've even set it to factory mode because safe mode didn't work either. I don't want to get a new device unless there is no fix. I've had this phone for about one year now. If I can't fix it myself I'll have to take it in to get fixed or buy a new phone instead.

Thank you very much. I have spent several hours and attempted many different fixes for my mic not working and this did the trick. I have a Moto G (1st Gen) and found a thin plug of dust covering the mic opening. Compressed air didn't remove it so I used the tip of a needle to remove it. Works like new. Thanks again!!!
