Your right. After having a couple of these engines you get to know the sounds. I installed a check valve inline on mine along with an electric lift pump that I only used to prime if it needed it or after a fuel filter change. That along with the manual glow plug switch made that truck life depend on it reliable

Hold glow switch while cranking until it starts. Then release. Good video😅

Are there two red wires because the factory ignition wire is connected to the push button switch?

I would have thought that glow plugs need 30 seconds. All Bobcat equipment is that way. 10 seconds is pointless

Autolite glow plugs are the worst. Beru glow plugs are the best

Thanks Mike. I never heard of beru, I'll look into them. Got OEM Ford glow plugs now, starts fine even in winter without the block heater.

Don't use anything but XD9 motorcraft. Put a new glow plug relay.
