Fix Infinite/Automatic Scrolling On Windows 10/11 PC

After viewing (20+) videos on this scrolling issue, I tried all the above steps and only Step (10) solved the problem. My first Logitech mouse was defective - meaning it worked well but the only problem with it was no vertical scrolling in Excel sheets and windows, google, youtube....etc. The second mouse when connected solved the scrolling problem.

Restarting stopped it. It was bizarre, it was only scrolling on menus like the startup menu and not in programmes like MS Excel or word. Thank you for your video

Solved! It was my wireless mouse receiver. As soon as I moved it to a different USB port the problem stopped. Thank you!

Thanks for the great tips in your video. Everything used to work fine, but as of this morning, suddenly the content on my pages was auto-scrolling and going to the end of each field and page. I checked many KZbin videos for the solution. Turned off the Scroll Inactive windows in mouse settings. Rebooted my computer. Updated Windows. All this did not solve my problem. Wasted a lot of time. Can't believe that your tip to change the port into which USB connector of the wireless mouse is plugged. Why would it be so, I don't understand, but it solved my problem.

Thanks I had a mouse and wireless keyboard on my server and I was getting infinite scrolling even when the keyboard and mouse were not plugged in, you gave me an idea when you said the shit and tab keys are stuck its will scroll so I decided to unplug the wireless dongle and plug it back in, and its all fine thank you

The more I try to fix this problem that just started in the middle of my PC use with no apparent reason at all, the more I realize that no one knows what causes it. Dozen different fixes people recommend to try and see if it helps, but no explanations on what causes it. Edit: Turned out to be my wireless keyboard drivers. Despite removing the batteries, it didn't go away early on, so figured it's not the keyboard but removed the drivers, unplugged the dongle, plugged it back in, automatically installed drivers and no problem anymore. Weird. Thank you.

Did you have the auto scrolling issue? I am having that on my newly purchased laptop. Contacted both Windows and Lenovo CS but nothing seemed to help. When you say removed the drivers, what did you remove?

@@superhero6621 Yes, the automatic scrolling was infuriating... I removed everything that was under the "keyboard" section in Device Manager ("HID Keyboard Device" for me, right click, properties, driver tab, uninstall device drivers or so...)and rebooted and upon the reboot, drivers automatically installed themselves back in. Though, I have no idea how laptops handle keyboards - as in a desktop PC when you uninstall the keyboard device, then plug it back in, it automatically searches for the drivers for that device... But I hope yours will do it upon a reboot. (If it doesn't you should be able to navigate with the on-screen keyboard and a mouse to install drivers... then again, if the auto-scrolling is still happening, it will be a pain in the ***) Good luck in getting rid of it. I feel your pain :S

If it's a wireless keyboard, I guess it might be worth a shot to replace the batteries too, as I think I did so during my struggles as well and now I'm not entirely sure which part of my "uninstall drivers, take the dongle out, change the batteries" thing worked, but could be that entirely powering down the device could play a part.

@@Lyndyou My controller had a cable that was pulling the thumbstick up. I've had controllers wear out and the thumbstick drifts in one direction. That would cause this problem too.
