I had this error on Assassin's creed Unity [DOD] and was helpless until I saw this video.. I have a AMD RYZEN 9 7900X and followed these steps and worked like a charm ♥ life saver! Thanks mate.

Try this method, Safeboot w/network, go to advanced options check number of processors click 4 only then apply and restart your computer.

Do not do this if you have a gaming device with windows. Your device will have an infinite loop on windows logo and you would have to reinstall windows

*the reason it only works for some people is that the restart of the computer is temporarly fixing the issue* changing things in msconfig won't do anything lol

What you can try: 1. Disable antivirus 2. Reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package - www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ 3. Make sure you have enough RAM and virtual memory (File paging) 4. Install on another drive or Desktop instead of Program Files Note that Fitgirl uses a custom .dll version of UNARC so you might want to check your windows folder for any existing version and delete it.
