I continue to appreciate all that you do to make wig wearing accessible and fun and creative for those of us learning how to do it. I've been wearing them daily at work and home for two months, and have chosen the "full disclosure" route - mainly to signal that it's fine to wear wigs for whatever reason floats your boat. Sometimes with funny results... Yesterday, I ran into a high-level associate dean at our holiday party (I work at a university), who complimented me on my hair. I blurted out, "Thanks! You know what? Hi Beth! You are AMAZING. Especially when it comes to working with a wig to make it look great. I actually have a wig I want to recommend to you. Laurel by the company Outre. The specs on this wig are amazing for a wig priced at only around $60. It has a 13x6 fully hand-tied lace front/top. However, it does need a little work. First, the length is too long. You can literally cut 6 or 7 inches off of Laurel, and she's still long. It also comes with a faux scalp underneath that is unnecessary, and too dark, but that can be easily removed. There are several videos on KZbin showing how to remove it. It also has an elastic band in the back to help make the soft lace lay flat, but you'll need to sew it tighter,, as it's made to accommodate a larger head size. I know it sounds like a lot to do, but once customized, it's comparable to wigs sold for around $300. It's also heat friendly. Outre usually makes wigs marketed toward African American women, but the lace on this wig is very pale girl friendly, and the color Dr6/champagne fizz is a lovely color. I've also seen reviews of the color dr4/ creamy mocha, which is darker, but also very pale girl friendly. I'd love to see what you could do with this wig.

Beth one more quick question. If you hang your wigs on hooks, great idea BTW!!, do you write the name of the wig on the tag? I have so many wigs, if I don't keep them in zip lock bags with their info inside, I wouldn't know who was who 😂😅😊

I don’t write the names but you definitely could, that’s a great idea! Would definitely help when you have a lot of wigs. Even just a label safety pinned to the tag would work then remove when you wear it. 💛😊👍

I agree with your technique. Spraying water is much better. I've found that some of the slip/silicone feeling is removed when you soak it. I spray.

Thank you very much! Usually you can get poof by just working the permatease and kind of digging in and lifting the hair fibers up. If you're referring to the crown area at the top/back of the head, If I feel like I want a little more lift there, you can do one of two things, put your bio hair in a ponytail up there (under the wig) or you can tease the hair yourself at the base and then comb over it and spritz with a little wig hairspray. I really like the Paula Young wig hairspray, it works very well and doesn't leave any weird residue, holds well, and combs out easily! 💕😊👍

Hi Beth, This is such a great video. I have watched it a couple of times. I normally wear my bangs straight across but I’m starting to shift towards the side bang and I like it. I bought Shannon awhile back and the side swept bang on it is really nice. I have a Gabor Bob piece where I recently added the side swept bang and really like it. It has a really nice lace front. I only buy those type of pieces when I can get them on clearance. Keep doing what your doing. Your truly so helpful. I want to get a Heidi by Paula Young but I know I will need to trim the length and do the side swept bang on her. If you ever buy another Heidi please show on her how to add the side swept bang. Thank you Pauline! I'm always happy to help! I know soooo many ask me about cutting bangs, and absolutely, bangs can be cut in any wig. I actually did cut bangs in my very first Heidi and I did it the exact way. I just sectioned off the bangs I wanted and I twisted it all and then trimmed (longer than you think) and was able to do the side sweep with them. I love the side swept bang look! I haven't been wearing bangs lately but if I start, I'll definitely film trimming a bang in a wig that doesn't currently have bangs! Thank you so much dear, and have a great day! 💞😊😊💞

Hi Michelle! 🤗 I like the Refresh spray, it smells nice! If you have curly wigs, just spritz and scrunch. For straight styles, spritz and then gently comb with wide tooth comb, then let dry. I have a hot air brush that I purchased from Walmart, it has 3 attachments. I use it on a medium heat setting and I have spritzed my non-heat safe synthetic with water first. Therefore, it acts like a steam and does not singe the hair. However, you must determine what works best for you, this is just what I've found works best for me! 💕😊👍

Does root spray wash out?

It will wash out of a synthetic wig if you wash it immediately, otherwise no, it kind of sets into the fibers and stays that way. That's why I like it as I only need to apply one time and it's good to go, even if I wash the wig. The Loreal root spray will wash off your skin and your bio hair, though, without any problems! 😊👍

Hi, I am new to your channel and wigs, I’m watching your fix it video, I bought sparkle from Paula young, I love it but I combed it and now it looks frizzy and the beautiful curls aren’t there, so then I figured I’ll spray her down with water and let her air dry, my question is did I really mess her up? Or will it bounce back?

Hi dear! Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here, I’m always happy to help my wig sisters!! 💞 If the spritzing didn’t work, I would give Sparkle a cold soak in water with a little Downy for about 10 minutes. Rinse well then roll in a towel to get out the excess water. Hang to dry. Once dry, gently comb with wide tooth comb from bottom up. Put the wig on, then you can spritz with water and scrunch to get the curl the way you like it. Spritzing and. Crunching works wonders. I hope this helps! 💛😊👍

I’m so waiting on my mail man I’m expecting Rowan and Becky, I AM wearing one tonight at work, I’m RN at a rural hospital, night shift, so I hope I don’t chicken out… I have Rheumatoid Arthritis along with a few other autoimmune diseases and in the past 6 months my hair is just falling out. Someone needs to make COMPLETELY UNSCENTED wig products. I use laundry detergent & laundry fabric softener (because my wigs are synthetic) to wash my wigs because the products everywhere else have a repulsive aroma to me. PLUS, I wear expensive perfume & these awful wig product scents clash very loudly with any perfume I want to wear. 😢
