This is a great idea, too, for a wig that's at the end of it's normal life... the frayed ends just no longer can be repaired by conditioning. Cut a little, like you're showing here, and well... it certainly couldn't hurt to try to give it another few uses as a slightly shorter version of itself.

Hi Sandi, Rochelle here and no, you do not need a hair dresser's license if you don't charge. In our store and at women's shows throughout the country, we include a free trim for minor cuts. Otherwise, clients can go to their hairdressers for more involved cuts. I've learned and practiced, as Danielle though the years. I just love being creative with wigs; it's so much fun! Nope, not at all. Our wigs are high quality synthetic, so it's more of a visual cut than a technical cut. Cut it to be how you want to see it. Even after washing/conditioning, the wig will dry the way you trimmed it to be - no changes after washing unless you do something different to it! xo Ro

Can you cut a straight wig like this also?

Hi Judy, Rochelle here! I would cut a straight wig more like cutting a bang. Little, slightly slanted cuts across; not just straight across. A straight, blunt cut wig with one length doesn't have the movement (or forgiveness) of a layered wig, so the cut shows up more. If you're not experienced, I'd try on an older wig, cut the wig longer than you want and cut the ends, then put the wig on and see how you like it - then do the same trim to make it shorter. If all else isn't an option, choose a hair stylist to make your trim. No matter what, always trim longer then you think; you can always go shorter, but it doesn't grow back!! I wish I lived closer to where you are - I am so clueless. I tried on quite a few lace front wigs yesterday, but they are so bulky around my head. The hair on every single one was all over my face. I'm trying to figure out how I can cut at least the bang area back so it's not quite so full.

You don't want or need any extra hair or bulk around our faces. Yes; there is so much to do with Candice; braided, trimmed shorter and pulled up into a French twist are just a few ways. Not too long to drag your face down - if you're face is thin, try hair with more layering to fill out your face - use your hair to soften your features or detract from where you don't want attention. You guys are wonderful! I sure wish you were closer. I have a wig I bought locally and I love the top part but the bottom drives me crazy. I can't return it because I've played and sprayed trying to make it look better, to no avail. I've even taken it to a hair dresser to cut but I think she was worried of cutting too much so she would only be very conservative. @@GodivasSecretWigs Hi! The tag on the wig says Estetica, so not a Godiva wig. I've watched quite a few of your videos and decided to give cutting it a try myself. I'm losing my hair due to chemo, so I'm new to wigs and have some experimenting to do to figure out what I can pull off for color and style. I've figured out a large cap size is better suited and more comfortable for me than a regular size. Once I figure out what colors and styles I can pull off I'll be visiting your store again. I do have the Taylor in Marble Brown, but I want more. 🙂 Love all the videos you both have done and thank you for them, they have been a tremendous help in my new journey.
