My hot water leak is fixed, no more ice-cold freezing showers in the morning! Hurrah! You're an absolute life saver! The washer was completely eroded, the cartridge and seat had a huge chip in them both. I got all the tools from Canadian Tire and parts, which stopped being manufactured in the 90s, from Rona. The only issue I ran into was that the socket wrench did not quite fit the cartridge, which I fixed by sliding the metal bar that held the socket wrenches together into the inside of the wrench to tighten the grip of the next size up.

Thank you very much for the video. You literally justs saved me. I had a handyman over, trying to switch out 3 valves but he wasnt aware he had to also change out the valve seat. I looked in the hole and two of them were chipped. Went to the store and bought the tool you showed to remove the valve seat and it was a quick fix after that.😊

I have watched tons of other videos, they didn't help much. Finally I understand how things work and was able to fix the leaking faucet in five minutes after watching your video. Thank you so much❤

Great video. I’m wondering if you’re a dental hygienist. Your fulcrum is iconic 😂

Hello, thank you so much for this clear and thoughtful video. I agree with all the comments here to. People see your skill. i loved that you gave detail without wasting time explaining what a faucet is, lol. Also the addition of No Music, no gimmicks, clear & precise HAND movements along with exact info was such a gift, my brain could actually keep up even after all the guilt i feel for wasting water and not doing this sooner. You are an inspiration. I usually dislike doing taps and pipes and was going to call a plumber, but i know it's easish. However when i last changed the valves (cartridges) in my bathroom sink, i somehow reversed them. Hopefully i do better with this job. Thanks again.
