Apologies to anyone who watched the original version of this video (released 2 days earlier). We managed to miss out the process for locating and releasing the ends of the printers waste tubes in the first edit, which is a pretty critical step. So, we've fixed the mistake and re-uploaded the video while also using a new tool to even out the voice audio.

Finally, the BEST solution that Canon should have thought of.. I have the G3200, I assume this will work for it? Thank You!
@octoinkjet2 ай бұрын
You want the G2 Printer Potty kit as your printer has just one waste ink tube unless my data is wrong. There’s a separate video for that one but the process is much the same.

@@octoinkjet Great! I'll be ordering one! Thank you!

Well done. Things out of the box literally. Lol. I want to check the colour waste tube of canon pixma g3000. Please advise where I can found same.
@octoinkjet Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the G3000 series only have a single waste tube with no separation so it a pigment/dye mess all in one. See our earlier video for those instructions.

What releases the excess air from the waste tank as it fills? Is it sealed or does it have a vent?
@octoinkjet Жыл бұрын
The tanks have a very small 1mm diameter hole drilled in the lid. The vent is actually marked by the label so that end-users don't cover it.

I have a g4280 2024 will this set up work on that printer or does it have a maintenance cartridge canon will not tell me if has one or not
@octoinkjetАй бұрын
Honest answer for now is that I don't know. We've not seen that unit before and would have expected it to have a maintenance box but I can't find a single reference to one. If you could contact us directly via support@octoink.co.uk we should be able to figure out what your printer can/can't support with a few pictures of your printer, particularly the back.

Hi can i know what the size of tube ? And what the nozzle size ?
@denisgiguere1600 Жыл бұрын
Hi octoinkjet, if you install the external tank right before the first use of the printer, do you have to reset it after sometime or the printer will work fine for years as long as you feed it with ink or its programmed to fail ?
@octoinkjet Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the waste ink system isn't based around a sensor in the pads but instead there's an incremented value in the printers memory that gets updated regardless of how much physical ink is actually in the pads (or tank). So you'll still need to reset the waste counter when the printer "thinks" the waste pads are full. The good news is that the counter can be reset as many times as you want so long as the printer doesn't develop some other fault. Does that help?

Hi! I ordered the waste ink kit, received it a few days later (shipped to Germany), installed it following these straightforward instructions, did the reset (instructions here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYGpgZ6jbr6di5I) and everything is fine! Thank you so much! Well done, you saved me a few hundred Euros for a new printer and now I know that I won't have this issue again. I just need to reset the waste ink counter every now and then...
@octoinkjet11 ай бұрын
We actually did our own video on the same process here: Reset for Free : Canon Megatank waste ink counter G1000 to G4000 series kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXfbdoV9mtp3pLc … but glad you were able to get it all working without breaking the bank.

It's a shame that these printers need to be 'potty-trained' in order to prevent the pads from filling up with ink and needing to be replaced, or reengineered to bypass the pads! 😳
@octoinkjet2 ай бұрын
It would be preferable if there were simpler ways to do this certainly but to give Canon some credit they have at least switched newer models to incorporating in a maintenance cartridge as a user-replaceable waste ink tank so that's something at least.
