Repairing my own and i can't get it to come off , it doesnt look like the heat is too low on my heat station, i hold it for what it seems like a long time end yet it doesn't come off

This is so frustrating at 440 the chip won't come off how long do you heat it at 440

I suspect my m92 chip is bad and thought I could do the repair myself with my new hot air setup....until I saw how small it actually is...now I'm thinking I'll pay a repair shop to do it. Honestly my biggest fear is that they'll make a mistake and then just tell me my board is bad

I thought the same so I got a 40 microscope on Amazon which is pretty good I must say. I thought the same thing myself and I changed my usb port 1st and surprisingly I did it but the chip was my problem. It really seems scary at 1st but not really that bad

any way to test M92 before removing it?

if you get an ammeter and set it to continuity mode (the mode that beeps when a circuit is created) you can check around the M92T36 chip for short circuits. But, it will cost you like $15 to replace M92T36 so I'd just replace it anyway.

@Aspecturr thanks. i already ordered some ICs (m92, pi3, bq and usb-c port lol). i will start replacing m92, i hope i dont receive bad components
