Nintendo Switch Charging IC Replacement

Switch stopped powering on/charging after kids were using it. Not sure if it's the port or the m92 IC so I ordered both replacement parts thinking this would be a perfect time to use my new hot air station...until the IC came in and I realized how unbelievably small that chip is. I thought it was about 4x bigger than it actually is and I don't have a magnifier setup yet. I go by feel and then check after with 3x magnification, but this is waaaay too small I think to be doing it this way

Nice repair! 13:17 I don't think that you "must" use the original Nintendo power supply. Any USB PD power supply should work, if it supports 15V with at least 2.6A (more, e.g. 3A, is also ok). The official Switch dock only enables HDMI output if the connected power supply reports that, and I guess your third party dock behaves identically. There are actually other docks (like the Skull & Co Jumpgate) that can enable HDMI output without that requirement. And from the video description: "The M92T36 power control IC chip is also sensitive to damage from the use of non-OEM USB-C chargers". There's no evidence for that. The BM92T36 is a generic USB type-C power delivery controller by Rohm Semiconductor, intended to work with all USB PD compliant power supplies.

Hello, I have some questions about this repair, I hope you can give me some answers for these questions: 1) What is the temperature used on the hot air device? 2) Is the fluid that you use to remove the broken M9 charging chip is the solder flux? 3) what is the spec or the temperature for your iron solder that you use?

Could this be the cause of my switch not going over 50% charge? Nephew says it got water damage and I know it’s true since the right joycon does not charge while on the switch but if I flip it to the other side it charges fine.
