I finally fixed it myself. None of the google solutions worked for me, but what did is: 1. go to sound settings 2. Click ease of access audio settings 3. Click change the device or app volume 4. It should automatically load up all of your output devices, and it will automatically remove the "No Audio Output Device Is Installed" icon from the taskbar. I hope this helps you. If not here's a list of things I did that did not help me so you might try them: a) Uninstall high definition audio controller (one or more) in device manager under "System devices" and let windows reinstall them b) Uninstall devices in device manager under "Sound, video and game controllers" and let windows reinstall them c) Disable all devices in b) and c) and re-enable them one by one to try and isolate the issue. d) update your motherboard bios (didn't help me, but someone said it solved their issue)

I've fixed it now turns out you actually need to go to RealTek's website and re-download the audio driver, either download the 32 bit or the 64 bit one depending on your system but once you download it the setup walks you through it and it installs it automatically, then it should restart and your audio should be working again. I lost my sound devices after "simply" installing the Windows 10 Update August 2020. Now my Linx has no sound devices installed anymore. I followed your steps and all goes well until 3:16. Ruby Red go to the device manager app and select sound video and game controllers and the right click on what is in it and choose upgrade or update I don’t remember. That way it will get you the best version there is if you have that option enabled in the settings and i think it is enabled by default

I figured out a real fix, guys. Go to Device Manager in your Control Panel, look until you see Other Devices, and there should be something with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. Right click it and click Update Driver. Click Browse My Computer For Driver Software > Let Me Pick From A List Of Available Drivers On My Computer then scroll all the way down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and click Realtek (I believe this depends on your original sound drivers, mine was Realtek so I'll use that as an example). Click the latest version of Realtek (or your system's original sound driver) then install it. Worked out fine for me, everything else out there is pretty much trying to infect your PC. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much. This happened today after HP ran a diagnostics check on my laptop for another issue. After they did their check I had no audio output device installed but Bluetooth worked. Then the rep decided to do a system restore to fix this audio issue and that didnt work. I called HP back the next rep wanted me to back up my system so they could do a system reset, just to fix the audio??? I am typically mild-mannered but that was outrageous and I demanded a supervisor and the s.o.b. hung up on me. Wasted 3 hours of my life for an issue your solution fixed in under a minute. POSSIBLE FIX - So guys, for all of you that are still searching comments for sollution. For me i tried everything: updating, uninstaling, disabling efects, manualy installing from sites/pc etc. etc. Sound drivers for windows can be a bit wild. What i did was just reverting realtec audio driver back to high deffinition (firstcouple of times the sound was horrible). Just dont loose hope guys. Try to jsut switch between latest realtec and high definition audio device. Uninstal/restart if you mess up somehow. You are just basically playing with chances. I hope you guys will stay srong and fix all your problems.

@@derosasruben, I did. I searched for another sound driver and I installed it into my computer. Then went back to Device Manager back to Sound, video & game controllers clicked on it and saw the driver with the yellow caution tag. I clicked on it and then hit "update Driver" Went to "browse my computer for drivers". It went to High Definition Audio" I clicked on that and replaced the driver with High Definition Audio driver. and the caution tag disappeared. And I fgot my audio back. It was Hell for 8 hrs Tamlay. If you clicked on the sound icon, it’ll bring you to this tab where it says to disable enchanted audio, if it says “Don’t use this device (disabled)” then click on it and select “use this device (enabled)”. I hope this helps you, if it didn’t I wish you the best of luck you can fix it.

@@andriananepacina4612 It's been awhile and I forgot I had this problem. I imagine I went to realtek website and downloaded the driver. Sometimes it works better just to remove the audio device, restart your computer, let windows detect the audio device, and from there you choose the driver (the one you down'loaded). As mentioned, I can't remember exactly but from what I wrote earlier that sounds like what I would have done.

im stressing out rn, i have meetings all week starting tomorrow and literally NOTHING is working. im either missing something in the device manager or failing downloads everytime i try something out. i tried installing the most recent HP audio driver, but nothing is working. ive been to numerous videos and articles and its really making me upset. can anyone help with a solution that works the best? i literally cant find/do anything to help. ive had this problem for almost 3 weeks now,, any and everything is appreciated

I'm having the same problems too. I have done numerous ways trying to install drivers. Also updated several other updates needed and also win 10 updates.

Try realtek if you are using realtek.

Actually i did all the possible solutions a-z updating firmware even installing new drivers , restoring health in cmd all a to z but still not working While u are suggesting very common solutions that might now work for most users
