thank you so much! i have a polaroid 600 one step thats been in the closet for years, a few weeks ago i decided to check if it worked and after trying 2 film packs and stumbling upon this video, i decided to open it up and thank goodness i did! i didnt find anything stuck inside but a couple of tiny plastic pieces fell out and that did the trick

Thanks, I always wondered how those plastic Polaroids were held together. It's a shame that Fuji discontinued the Pola-pack film. I've got a couple of Pack cameras re-wired using modern batteries. Thanks I look forward to your videos every month. Tom

Very good to hear. Those snap apart Polaroids are very tricky. You should be proud of yourself for getting it done. Your must have tapped into your persistence and patience reserve to stick with it for two hours.

Very nice repair. I have a question tho. Do you think after what you’ve seen that if I push the shutter in while there is no film in the camera it’ll damage something inside of it? Also when I do the same thing while the bottom lid where you insert the Film is open could it take damage there? Because I found out that there are different kinds of resistances when the bottom lid is open or closed (while open it can’t be pushed all the way in like when it’s closed). I would like to understand why that is. Thank you :)

Hey there, I am stuck with repairing my polaroid jobpro 600. The little door wont lock into place after putting in film. I found a little piece of wire that I feel like came out of it so I'm not sure. Can you maybe help me figure this out?

Thank you so much for this video! I was finally able to fix the broken film door on my Polaroid 600 Job Pro 1! The yellow strip on the film door also pops off, so I swapped those over as well. You can't even tell it has been replaced!

I see the question was asked but never answered.. My One Step 600 Land Camera spits all it's film out when loaded. Shutter button does not change the photo number dial, I do not see the mechanism engaging the len shutter or where it would move the dial... This camera you have looks almost identical inside. Can you do a video on how the mechanisms should function when pressing down the shutter button? Please and thank you! This is the same camera my parents had when I was a kid and would love to continue to use it.

I know it's 3 years larer but I was just looking for the same video! It would be really helpful for me as someone who's trying to learn how these types of cameras work so I know how to check all the "usual suspects" when something stops working.

Hi there! I've got a Polaroid Supercolor 635. When I insert the film pack it just keeps spitting out film one after another without much of a pause between each "photo". Even when the pack is empty it keeps rotating the gears like it is in an endless loop of taking photos. Flash does not go off at all in this loop. I've managed to take the camera apart, but since I have no idea which component could cause the issue I don't feel comfortable touching too much. Have you heard of this issue before? Any ideas what could be wrong? It's worked completely fine up until yesterday where I accidently banged one the corners while the camera was closed.

Thank you for the useful tutorial! I took mine apart and i saw that when you push the shutter the appreture plates are not opening. What should i do? Also how do you fix the shutter problem that makes the camera spit out all the photos at once?

ive got an original onestep, no inbuilt flash, it had issues with the button, the old copper leaf switches had decided to stop working... for now ive got it but i found basically nothing telling me about my model, also how important is the tension spring on the door hinge frame, the plastic stick holding the right side in place, mine snapped off in disassembly but doesnt appear to affect the mechanism

Hello Fix Old Cameras, I put a fresh pack of film in a Onestep Closeup and it doesn't turn on. I've been following the instructions on the video and seem to be stuck on the roller assembly step (2:16). I can't separate the shell from the internals of the camera. Also, I think I made a huge mistake of closing the film door and now I can't open the it because the button to eject the film door is removed. Is there any hope I can still fix this old instant camera?

To open the film door , you can use a screw driver and push on to the metal part you see. It takes some time to see it though

The flashes keep charging (red light) forever on two 660s and the shutter on one Spirit 600 doesn't work at all but flash is charging and turns green. Do you have any advice for these two cameras? I've opened it and managed to fix the lever, but no luck with firing it. I havent found any mechanic info about this camera so I was hoping I could send you a picture of the mechanism, so you could give me a hint of what to do next.

Thank you for your interest in FOC. As is always the case with an electronic released camera... if you have not already done so, make sure you have a good battery and the battery contact and cover are free of corrosion. Sometimes the corrosion is so light it is nearly invisible but still can disrupt good current flow. And if the battery is just a little off full voltage output in will operate the meter but not the release. If you are interested in getting the camera repaired the email contact is available otherwise due to the volume of emails it is unpublished. You may go here for repair inquiry. phototronic.biz/

i have an polaroid 650 and the flashlight is broken. How do i fix that?
@FixOldCameras5 жыл бұрын
FOC deliberately avoids posting videos featuring electronic flash work and does not advise "kitchen table" repairs of electronic flash circuits unless you have a fair understanding in advance as to the chance of being bitten severely by the main capacitor. Be careful of the main capacitor it will pack a punch! Discharge it with a 10 watt 25 ohm resistor shorted across the terminals.

Film counter stuck in Nikon FM10 Please help
@FixOldCameras5 жыл бұрын
Check to see if the counter engagement is making proper contact with the film door. There is a small slot in the upper light seal groove on the right side of the camera. If the engagement is not stuck and moves freely then the top cover will have to be removed so the counter mechanism can be inspected.
@FixOldCameras5 жыл бұрын
Remove top cover. Did the counter return? Look for a ding on the top cover that might be binding the counter dial. Did it not return? Look for dislodged counter dial return spring. Look for a jammed counter engagement lever.
@thehasinhafiz5 жыл бұрын
I think the spring is jammed because I tried closing the back and still didn't work

I was hoping you showed how to remove the flash cover I’m stuck on that part and don’t want to break anything
@FixOldCameras5 жыл бұрын
The flash cover is two parts (upper and lower). They are snapped together. Slightly pull out on the sides to began the separation. It take some prying to get them to separate. Be careful that you do not tear the connecting flex circuit in the process. And COMPLETELY DISCHARGE THE MAIN CAPACITOR before doing any work on the flash. A 10W 100ohm resister will discharge the capacitor quickly without sparking. It can heat up if the capacitor has a full charge. Be sure not to touch the leads during the discharge.
